I have a bose concert, single cd player, steering wheel controls and an integrated cradle for an iPhone 4 which is great if it was 2004 and mobile phones hadn't developed since then so it's kind of useless technology I have in the car.
I'm looking to upgrade but keep certain aspects.
I'd like to keep the steering wheel controls and get rid of or upgrade the iPhone cradle.
Anybody else been down this path?

The cradle plate should come off if it is factory fit Audi holder, they just unclip. You can buy a more modern universal charging plate from Audi for Iphone or Andriod. Long time since I looked at whats available now.

Keeping the steering wheel controls is tricky for the radio, you would have to find a solution that supports can bus controls of the radio, you are likely to lose the radio information in the DIS and you may also possibly have to upgrade your dash to double din for such a unit.
