Hi guys, long time since I posted anything on here and unfortunately my first post in a long time is due to an issue...

Car is a Feb 2017 S3.

Earlier tonight start/stop showed on the dash as an error, revs got pretty lumpy and then car sounded like it was running on all cylinders. Yellow / orange exclamation mark at the top of dash and also yellow / orange car at bottom appeared (virtual cockpit)

Was stranded so a slow drive home for a couple of miles followed, car was definitely not right. Switched start/stop off and this seemed to cure the issue on the drive back. Back at home, started again and with start/stop on again engine returned to being lumpy.

A quick VCDS scan and the culprit seems to be the last of the 3 codes - 000802 - engine speed sensor (G28). The other two codes are 000665 and 004243, however VCDS notes these have only occurred once whereas 000802 has twice and this code also states MIL on.

Anyone had this issue before? Car is still just inside warranty so will be speaking to Audi but would be helpful to be armed with any prior info / experiences?

Phone won’t let me upload pictures of VCDS scan onto here...

Take it in, my car is in now with slightly worse symptoms (engine cut out on me on roundabout and was 'lumpy' at low speeds), turns out the camshaft inlet magnetic valve is seized on mine.

Interesting the SS helps the issue, report back if you can when resolved.

Just to (hopefully!) close the loop on this one, got a call from the dealer today to say that my car should now be back to normal and is ready to collect (Christmas meant a long wait).

The day before it went to the dealer I went to start it and the battery was dead and it wouldn’t start. They have done drain tests and can’t see any control modules drawing additional power so that seems unrelated to the original problem - I haven’t had the car long so potentially a combination of sitting unused for a little while on a forecourt along with some recent short journeys and cold weather may have caused this - I will keep an eye on it.

Diagnosis of original issue was faulty injectors which have been replaced.

Whilst it was in it has also a new washer bottle which was apparently leaking.

Fingers crossed all is resolved...
