Hi All,

I have an a3 8p without sensors. I was just wondering if its possible to retrofit guide me home lights?

If so what do I need and how do I do it.

Cheers

You don’t need sensors for the lights to come on. They are called ‘Coming Home Lights’ if you want to do a search on the forum.
Depending on the model and year you have will depend on how much work you need to do. Facelift Slines already have it, just needs to be programmed to come on. Pre Facelifts use a different headlight switch with extra led and button to enable and clock symbol label next to them.

Did mine with Carista during the free trial period, I don’t have auto lights either.

I have the 2011 S Line black edition with DRL so do I just need to program it? Will carista work?

Check the handbook, it tells you in there :rtfm:. You need the headlights set to auto and you can activate them in the DIS.

Yeah, couldn’t be easier. Mine is a 2009 S3 with DRLs, no auto lights.

Interesting keep seeing mixed things about if you can or can't do this. Most say you can't do it but can do it via repair wire retro fit

What lights have you got? Can you post a picture?

Caristas are now £10.99 on Amazon with free delivery, must be worth a punt?? I’m a VCDS user and I only bought Carista to use with the Dash Command and Four Stroke apps. During the free trial I enabled coming home/leaving home lights and the fog light cornering assist on my car, the auto door mirror reversing thing wouldn’t work. On my mate’s A4 B8 I enabled the cornering assist and needle sweep, he already had the other things. After the free trial you can still use the diagnostic features so it’s handy to have in the glove box should you need it on the go. It’s by no means VCDS, but it’s less than 11 quid!
