4 Days Detailing

Last week I spent Thursday to Sunday detailing the car. I had a previous attempt at correcting the paint but failed slightly due to my own failures so as a base it was coated with some AF Power seal to see it through a few months until i had the time to tackle it again. So i started the day with a full wash and decontamination of the car including using the carbon collective exfoli-block instead of clay bar which i love using its so easy much better and faster than clay bars.

I apologise for the lack of photos as i really wanted to concentrate on getting the paintwork to as near as perfect as i could achieve. So i did a 2 stage polish with Meguairs MF system and there cutting compound the refined that down with Menzerna Final Finish an Lake country finishing pad. This really brought out the shine clarity in the paintwork. After a quick snow foam and rinse the car was given a full wipedown with Carpro Eraser leaving a nice clean base for coatings. First up was Carbon Collective Platinum paint left overnight to cure the finished of with Carbon Collective Oracle to add even more gloss to the paintwork leaving a very slick very reflective surface. The wheel are still holding up well with there coat of C-Quartz UK so a wash n wipe is suffice for them and tyres dressed with AF satin. Window have G-Techniq G1 on the so again just wash and wipe down is sufficient. Interior was given a good hoover and the front seats mainly the drivers eat was given a wipedown with APC then re-applied G-Techniq L1 to the front seats the rears have never really been sat in so a simple hoover and wipe is enough. Even after only 7000miles it was amazing to see the dirt coming of the drivers seat which i presume is mainly dye transfer from my jeans. Exhaust tips were given a wipe one with AF metal polish they also have a coat of C-Quartz UK on them and its shows after 7000miles they are still shining like new for anyone that wants to keep then sparkling i would seriously recommend getting them polished up then have a coating of some sort applied as it makes a huge difference.

Enough rambling have a look at the end results. Few snaps in the sun, then back to its bed.:blackrs4::chuncky::chuncky::chuncky::chuncky::chuncky:

Great work - it looks beautiful.

There is something about a freshly detailed black car....the finish is always great.

Looks superb - if only they would stop like that. Mine looks dirty before I get it to the end of the road.

Been looking at the Carbon Collective stuff, it is quite reasonably priced when compared to the G-techniq sealants which went on mine.

Your hard work has certainly been worth it.

Lovely work. Can't beat a black glossy car. You just now don't want to drive it and spoil your work.

I've been driving it all week around 60mile round trip to work and I must say given the **** raod conditions it still looks good, it's washed on a weekly basis so hopefully the coating just makes things easier. Having an air blower should help with drying to so minimum contact with drying towels
