3rd brake light LED

Does anyone know anything on the 3rd brake lights on a 2005 Audi A3 Sportback?

I in the strip there is 1 LED bulb thats not working, how can i fix this and is it as simple as just changing the LED light that has gone?

Not pulled one apart but likely to be an smd led/led soldered on to a pcb so won't be like changing a normal bulb

Open it up & see what you find, check the voltage to a working led (likely to be 3v ish), also check the resistor (could be one, or one for 3 LEDs or one each led) you'll need a multimeter for that, look in to sourcing a new led, and decide if you fancy changing it!

Or buy a new unit/secondhand!
