Hello!

Is it possible to make fog light or any other light turn on in corners on my Audi A3 8p sportback (2011).
I know some cars have this by default, but my A3 doesn't ... Is this normal or is there a way to do it.

Thanks

I am not 100% if it is possible or not but have you tried Carista/OBDEleven. I activated it on a friend's B8 A4 (2010) and A5.

I did some more research and I found out I can do it through VCDS. I'll contact my friend and we will se ...
Thanks for responses

I have the 2010 Sline facelift model and switched them on with OBD2.

I turned mine on via vcds. Think you need auto lights though?

I already did it witd VCDS and it works. Works only if you have auto lights or you turn them on by hand.

I didn’t know that, me and my girlfriend both have 2010 A3 sportback, mine has auto lights etc hers doesn’t. I’ll have to plug my vcds in to hers and activate them too.

Yes it works with lights on, but if you have auto lights on it won't work at day.

Seems a bit odd to me ? what happens if you are going round a left hander and the lights come on and some one is coming the other way ? Its normally when you would dip your lights not turn them up

quite apart from it being illegal to use fog lights when its not foggy.

Cornering lights are fitted to all modern cars now days to improve visibility when cornering, they only come on at speeds of approximately 20mph and obviously only one light comes on depending on which way you are cornering. It’s not illegal as both fog lights are not on at the same time.

Thanks, i dont think that would help me TBH as i have hids and putting the fog lights on doesnt really notice, would be OK if it flicked on one to main beam................but then i do that anyway with a special little stalk on the sheering column. :)

Cornering lights are legal, some cars have this feature by default, but Audi turns this function off. While using VCDS you have a bit where you can just turn off or on this feature. It's nothing complicated and it's a "built in function".

But I think this feature is not as useful in cities as it is in hilly landscapes where is a lot of turns, narrow roads, leaves blocking it and rocks near. Especially in winter if there is a lot of snow. In conclusion it helps to see object in turns near the road, so you don't damage your car.

I enabled this feature on my A3 with the Carista App, totally possible.

I’ve never noticed the cornering light giving extra illumination when it comes on. Only activated them cos it’s Cool

Cornering light works for me, it's way better and looks cooler. I won't undo this function ;)
