Sunroof Rattling Again!!!!

After having the whole thing replaced under warranty and not having my car for 5 weeks - it was perfect. No noise. Now in the last week its started rattling again. It maybe been two months.

I am not really sure what to do... Would Audi even touch it again under warranty? Is it even worth bothering again? Unless the guy that fitted it did something wrong of course but it was fine for two months...

Also a tyre question - I replaced my PZero front tyres with the same tyres (except not the Audi R01/2 with the lip, just the standard) and the last couple of days I have noticed when driving off the sound of stones in the wheel tread - and it actually seems that they are melting into the rubber. I have to use the key to get them out. The weather isn’t that hot... Any thoughts what is going on? It only seems to be after standing still over night that it happens.

Joking aside, seems a common problem and one I think you’ll have to put up with.

Only sunroof problem we had was on my late wife's 8P. Minor damage resulted in a bodyshop trip which after the car was baked brought on a rattle but only in hot weather. Eventually replacement roof fitted, I think they are glued in. This solved the problem. No issues with any 8V sunroofs at all and I'm on my 4th.

Panoramic roof creaking noise: I respectfully suggest you go back to your Audi dealer and ask if ALL updates were applied; for sure from Audi GmbH they are numerous.

Mine, an SQ5, was 'serviced' recently along with a FULL service for the rest of the car and hey following 'service'the roof still 'creaked.'

So I investigated YouTube 'Audi panoramic roof creaking noise - fixes' and sure enough there are quite a few

A careful and kindly worded email to my Audi Dealer (Stafford Audi and 100% one if not the best Audi dealership ) Service Manager asking "if ALL (Audi) updates had been applied" as the roof still creaks and/or are there any other 'non-Audi' fixes, as shown on YouTube, they/he has knowledge of?

And the response was 150% i.e., "please bring the car back; our guys would like to have another go . This is a 'known' and 'difficult' issue to resolve and so with the (customer) feed back you always (!) provide we'd like another go"

And so I did, why on earth not? And guess what; post second attempt, absolute silence...

Sooooooo many out there that get things right 100% ALL of the time but hey, some don't: so please persuade 'em have another go, who knows...

This 'is' a known issue! Go talk with your Audi dealer, be nice, and ask them to look at it again.

Mine also creaks when shut, ok when open or tilted. Been to the dealer to have seals treated with Krytox but that didn't help at all, looks like they lubricated the mechanical parts but missed the seals. Going in again shortly for its first service and another go at the pan roof. On the bright side at least I don't have squeaky brakes.

Well considering they replaced my roof - actually I am not sure which parts were replaced - but anyway it’s annoying.

Called them up and taking it so they can have a listen on Friday - considering they had my car for over 6 weeks I am not keen on giving it up again.

audi could never solve my creaking sunroof, it drives me crazy, I went to my dealer 3 times because of it and the issue was never solved, when the sunroof heats a little it makes a lot of noise, it's hard to believe audi realeased this car with such a stupid mistake/lack of quality control.

I had the same issue with my 2017 S3 and it drove me nuts.......dealer did warranty repair, but the creaks came back after a month. I applied Gummi Pflege to the rubber seals and reapply every 6 months.....no creaks.
