Cruise Control Retrofit Coding

Hi Guys. I recently retrofitted cruise control
To my A3 8V Sline. Ive tried coding it with my VCDS to the two modules (Steering wheel And Instruments) but when i try to code it into my engine module it throws up a glow plug light on my dash and the comes up as a fault code, ive tried many little things but nothing is playing ball. Ive had my friend who specialises in Tuning VAG’s and retrofits but he has never seen anything like it either, has anyone else had this issue?? Could some please help as this is so frustrating lol.

Cruise control is now a licensed feature and cannot be coded via the likes of VCDS. Only new parts can be used as they come supplied with an activation pack. Within this pack are codes (single use) which only a dealership or an authorised 3rd party can use to activate your feature via an online process known as software version management.

Long story short vcds cannot do this and “used” parts are useless.
