Cruise control coding issue

Hi All,

I've read all the guides and info available here on cruise control and DIS retrofitting, and I went ahead and did it myself today. I'm having trouble with the coding portion of the process unfortunately, and I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong.

The problem occurs during the steering module recoding. I can do the coding itself successfully, but since I have upgraded the SCSM to one that supports DIS, I have to perform adaptation on it as well.
So when I do the following:

[16 - Steering Wheel]
[Adaptation -10]
Channel 81
New Value = 00111
Test
Save

Testing goes through fine, but upon pressing Save I get the message 'Bus not OK', then 'Pin'.

I have not seen anyone else encounter this problem and I'm not sure what's causing it. The workshop code of the steering module got changed to 00000 from what it originally was along the way, but I'm not sure if that could be causing the issue. Because I can't perform this adaptation I am getting error codes for ESP and ABS as well, even though I have performed the ABS module recoding.

I think you have to have the steering module learn your cars VIN.
Step 21 in the file linked in next post.

Yes, that guide is the main one I have been following, and step 21 is where I'm stuck at. When I hit Save in step 21, I get the message 'Bus not OK' in VCDS, and I have no clue what's causing it.
After, if I check the Steering Wheel Measuring Block Channel 81, I can see that the module has my car's VIN, but also a bunch o gibberish characters after the VIN itself.

I've tried just proceeding with the steering angle calibration and the ABS coding, but it seems that fault codes regarding both ABS and ESP still persist, and I think it's due to this adaptation error of the steering module itself.
 
It had to be the extra characters after the vin causing the problem.
