I have a audi a3 2005 5 door sportback

Will buy a legit cable once I have the money but can't justify the price (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163537899508) at the moment as I need money for parts and to get my car running. If not can someone suggest a cheap alternative?

VagCanPro ori cable is around 250 quid. For time being you could use a cheap vcds clone, and then buy either ori vcds or vcp.

You can get 'Pro' version with OBD2 dongle for around £70. It will read all the codes and perform coding if needed.
Far cheaper than VCDS.
