Hi guys sorry if this been posted before but I have upgraded my interior lights (not bulbs) to the black edition ones. Led's are soldered onto the board. I have noticed there's a extra 2 wires on the loom that powers the lights. I need to know we're these extra 2 wires go as there not working front or back?

Have you got pictures?
Some of them had map lights and some don’t so that could account for extra wires and possibly another ground

Swapping to the black one

The power lead from the new one has 6 wires and the old one only has 4. No lights working iv plugged old one back in and it still works

The one with the black plug and 2 black cables looks like it’s a common ground. Test it with a bit of cable touching something metal on the body of car like the door lock. Just not a painted surface.
If it lights up then you need to wire it somewhere.

im sure i read that its not a direct swap and needs rewired and coded as its controlled via the MMI.

think it was a bigger job than just a wire. have search using the search bar. I wanted to do the same with my A3 but it was a faf. think you needed VCDS to activate it too.

A lot of effort for a light. Didn’t think it was that involved to change what is essentially a halogen bulb to led.
Easier just changing the bulbs to led bulbs.

Yup. and even then you need the correct type as if you don't then they flicker when off. I did this!
