Hi Guys, Just bought myself an Audi A5 3.0 TDI with 140k on the clock as a run around.

One thing I noticed is the DPF light keeps coming on. I went on a 500 mile trip on the weekend last weekend measuring the DPF levels and it seems to regen when I get on the motorway. The light has been on twice since! I have done about 50 miles.

I never run less than 1/4 tank during the week I do short journeys 5 mile to work but I also do motorway runs too. Once a week ish. Any Ideas?

One thing I did notice is the Coolant Temp is low and never quite reaches 90C and fluctuates. Which im guessing is the stat. Would this effect the DPF though?

The log bellow is an hour of driving in 5th 2300 rpm ish at 70 on the motorway.

Try a service regen.

No direct link between coolant temperature and DPF regeneration. Soot ignition needs exhaust temperatures of between 350-650 which are shown on your table.
