Is it possible to fit some 17 inch alloys from a B8 SE model to a B8 special edition which has factory fitted 19 inch rims?

As I understand it, the Special Ed's had standard suspension, and Im sure when replacing brake disks they were standard (small) size, so I cant see any reason they wouldnt fit, but can anyone confirm?

The reason for wanting to change is winter tyres would be better in 225/50/17 size than 255/35/19.

They’re fine.

17” wheels will fit over the 345mm brakes as found on the S4 so they’ll fit anything below that trim level.

Is that right? I didn't think an S4 would take anything smaller than 18 inch rims. That might change the economics of sourcing a winter set.

I agree, both you and I should know that there is no 17" wheel/tyre option listed on the S4 tyre/wheel listing on the car or in the hand book.

Also Audi advise the use of 18" for winter use.

100% fit over the 345mm discs. Had them on mine.

Images taken from a thread on here, clearly shows the 17” wheel over the 345mm S4 front disc. Shows the rear too if you really need convincing they fit.

I have 15" VW alloys on my wife's 6C Polo 1.2TSI 110PS in winter, they fit over the callipers for the 288mm discs - just, very difficult to clean the wheels inner faces without cleaning, moving the car and cleaning the areas that I could not reach first time!
