Found Object Post cleaning S3 Chrome tips

For first ever time I have just cleaned my chrome exhaust tips on my S3 ready for AITP10. I pushed a wheel brush down the pipes to clean them out then found a small cylinder type object amongst the gunge that came out. Anybody know what it is? Please see picture.

What kinda exhaust have you got , was maybe thinking exhaust valve but coupd easily be well off the mark

Was thinking maybe a sensor, Emissions possibly? What does a sensor actually look like? Will have to see if I get any errors on drive to AITP tomorrow Thanks for replies
