hi there, used to own an a3 1.8t and upgraded a few months back..
In the near future I plan to go stage2+ with it then sort the brakes/suspension and a set of lightweight/motorsport wheels
So far it has a revo intake and 3” custom exhaust..
Anyone else got an estoril blue car on here??
Thanks!

She's a beauty!
Only ever seen one other 8P in Estoril and that was a 3 door.
I still miss my 2+ S3 8P 18 months on, so much so that I've contemplated going back to one and still might
Is it manual or auto?

Hi thanks for the kind words it is a DSG box..
Love it so far owned it since early March and the colour made me buy it the only let down it seems to be the only s3 8p without bose speakers but coming from a 2001 a3 it is considerably better anyway!

Rather cool looking colour on par with the Green S3

Typical Audi with the options that should be standard!
I retrofitted the full front and rear optical park sensors, auto lights and wipers(needed new windscrew) and the rails so you can retrofit if you feel brave
I had mine almost 3 years. Started off standard and went 2+ with coilovers, arbs and BBS wheels. Loved every minute of it.
I would go back in a breath if the right car came along in a rare colour!

@-Ju- , i am assuming the S3 in the Audi Green is very rare in the last 7 yrs i have only come across 2 on the court yards Preston Audi + Milton Keynes .
Just enquiring about another Java Green now

Yes Java green I think it is.
The merlin purple would be my favourite but Estoril does look nice in the flesh

Mine is absolutely crying out for some mods! To be fair I did want roof rails but looked into it and seems drilling is involved so ruled it out for me!
What Coilovers did you run out of interest?
Me and my dad modded the original engine cover
To fit the revo intake

I retrofitted the rails on my 8P and also on my 8V. It's not bad if you are careful and don't mind removing interior trim. Definitely worth the effort though!
I had KW clubsports and H&R anti roll bars. The KW's were fantastic
The Revo is the best flowing intake but was too noisy for me, I preferred the VWR but then I'm probably your dad's age lol

I stripped and painted a TTRS engine cover when i fitted my revo, looks well better than no cover at all.

Totally agree , what type off paint did you use as i am needing to tart mine up a bit

I like the TTS one but can’t bring myself to pay £100-150 for a thing il hopefully not see much of!
As for retrofitting the roof rails I have a panoramic roof so unsure if they work with that? I’m not brave enough to drill the most modern car I have owned aha!
Also had this work carried out a month or so ago!
-timing chain and tensioner replacement
-sump/pickup pipe cleaned, refilled with millers nano
-dsg flush and refill with oem oils
-rear haldex servicing
-new plugs and cabin filter
-manual decoking of inlet valves
-air leak around inlet fixed
-runner flap delete whilst inlet was off
All done by ee-lye racing who have a seat 2.0tfsi dsg race car

Both mine were/are panoramic roofs....makes no odds

How does the car run with the rfd and on std map?

I also have the original Audi roof rail retrofit pdf if you get brave

Julian, this pdf must be the most elusive part of any retrofit. Good score that.

Ahh okay cool will look into it guessing find one that’s braking with them on and remove everything necessary ?
And regards the rfd it runs lumpy on cold starts but once warm it’s fine.. noticed it makes more noises/burbles more but drives spot on.

Love the colour of this car, have never seen it before, and then tonight I saw the same colour on a TT!
It suits the S3 much better though.
I have to be picky and point out that in this post you mention that you had the car filled up with Millers Nano, but in the photo you have the Quantum oil.
Typo, or oil swap after the pic?

@ElzLewis stunning S3...love the colour! Sounds like some tasty mods in the pipeline......enjoy :icon thumright:

The garage sent me the picture and I instantly said “you quoted me for millers” and he said the quantum was for a mk5 they were rebuilding and he forgot about the millers as it was in the office aha!

Thanks man it’s just finding the money for all the bits whilst saving for a house/holiday!
Hopefully buy the hpfp internals this month.
Picture of my old car now I have grown up and left the static lifestyle of braking things ..

Bose is massively overrated mate - just upgrade to aftermarket speakers, with some sound deadening in the correct places and they will sound 10x better than the stock Bose crud... If you ever see the speakers they market as Bose, you'll understand why.

Haha, nice! Mine's Sepang Blue, so another relatively rare colour option :)

Ahh was unsure from the pics myself but I went to view a sepang blue hatch and it had the red cherry colour leathers and I couldn’t get excited about them! Don’t particularly like my grey inserts in my seats but seems they are the most popular colour for the sportbacks..
and ah that’s good to hear! I did read online that if looking to upgrade the standard setup is easier to upgrade and better once done so sounds good to me
Thanks a lot!

Not updated for a while!
Recently had my car in for stage 2+ remapping..
Got a phone call from the tuner to say my car was only making 165whp on standard map which equates to around 200hp! Shocked to say the least as it should be 265hp stock, he stripped the dv down and refitted and all good so continued with the mapping and made 323whp which I believe is around 370bhp so I was pleased with that! The car feels amazing on boost..
I had the vis internals and rs4 fuel valve fitted at the time of mapping so only thing missing it a fmic which I will get at some point then get it on a 4wd dyno setup.
Next plans are H&R springs or Coilovers and then some decent motorsport style wheels and decent discs and pads in the near future m.

That torque curve looks low for a stg2+. In standard form they put out 258ft-lb.

The power looks to come in at the end of the rev range.

Definitely seems to go well it was on a normal 2wd dyno which supposedly measures wheel horse power if that makes any difference? I’d say it’s not far off my friends k04 mk6 gti

Hey Ju, you wouldn't happen to have a template for retro fitting the roof rails for the 8p would you?

No template but if you message me your email I have the Audi retrofit pdf

Just bought an S3 in the same colour. Yours is far cleaner, disgracing mine outside but I do love the colour.

I'm also very surprised by the torque curve?! It looks 100-150ft lb down in the mid range and max torque at 6500rpm?! I wonder if the car is so different for a different market/fuel?

Pictures make my car look tidier than it is aha! Needs the front end doing and a good mop again to be tidy .. unsure what’s going on with the map to be honest but the car is 10x better than it was in standard form .. going to sort a 4wd dyno our this month and see what the crack is as my tuner said torque will be similar to the BHP figure of 370 but until I see it I can’t be sure ..
cheers!

It would be worth getting a full health check carried out. Don't worry so much about the 2 wheel or 4 wheel dyno as it's unlikely either are measuring at the wheels (correction factors can be applied).

Your max torque is hitting at 6400rpm, just before the red line. This should be (tuner dependent) coming in well before this (circa 4.4k?). As for your HP, I'd hazard a guess that this is not at the wheels.

I'm not a mapper so it could all be good - take a look at the remap section to compare you chart: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/power-mods-specs-remapper-and-graphs.279013/page-3

Where are you located? Maybe look to book a healthcheck/dyno session with RTech in Nuneaton.

It had a visual health check and scanned for codes prior to having the map done , dip stick was replaced , dv stripped and rebuilt iv even replaced that for the newer item now .. the car definitely comes on strong at 4/4.5k also had timing chain,sump/pickup clean , runner flap delete, inlet valve cleans and full service including dsg oil and drivetrain oils so I believe the car should be spot on but as you say may be worth scanning over everything to double check everything is as should be
I am based in Middlewich it’s a good trip to r tech as I nearly booked in unicorn is a lot closer I believe
