Hi all,
Apologies if this is the wrong place - I've only recently joined so just getting used to the forum layout! I'm in nee d of some help regarding my JB4. Now, I'm aware running an JB4 isn't the best, but the majority of people don't face issues with them.
Here's the rundown: I installed my JB4 around a week ago, since then I've driven about 600 miles and it's been great, the power delivery is amazing and the car feels transformed! However, on Sunday morning my EPC light appeared and the turbo wouldn't boost at all, it felt like I was driving a 1.2 Corsa
I switched the car off about half a mile down the road when I could, waited a few minutes and turned the car back on. The EPC light was gone, so I thought no more! Around 8 hours later, the EPC light appeared again so I did the same and poof, EPC was gone and the turbo was boosting fine. At this point, I was worried. I scanned with OBD11 and the following errors were present:
- Manifold Abs.Pressure or Bar.Pressure (Fault code: P010700, Intermittent)
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor (A) Circ. (Fault code: P023700, Intermittent)
Towards the end of the night, the car was not drive-able. The EPC light would go off when restarting the car but pop after putting my foot down. After some help from a few kind guys on the MK7 R owner's club from Facebook and checking the graphs, they found my throttle was cutting out erratically and after modifying FOL and some other values, nothing helped.
The issues still occurred when the JB4 was on Map 0 and Map 4. I've been on Map 2 for the past week. I have since removed my JB4 and the car is fine - so I'm left wondering what the exact issue is.
Common sense would dictate that there could be a small leak somewhere and the extra boost is causing the car to throw out errors - could this be the case and if so, how would I go about finding the leak? If not, what else could this be (also considered a dodgy sensor, so I have purchased a new turbo boost sensor for the charge pipe and another pressure sensor on the manifold) but I am hesitant to fit these as I'm not too sure if they'd actually resolve the issue when the JB4 is connected.
Not too sure if George from Burger is on here, but any help would be much appreciated! If this is in the wrong place, please move and I'll make sure to post in the right place next time
Thanks in advance!
