Fault code 00665/0299

Hi there looking for some help please my son has a 2007 a3 s line 2.0 tdi 170bhp and the car goes into limp mode we put the snap on diagnostics on as that is all we had to hand and the only code that came up was the 00665 Fault code 00665 Boost pressure regulator range not reached also p0299 short with power intermittent, just looking for some help in explaing what this means just to get a understanding of what the problme is.
