Great stuff. I like the Vorsprung edition for the A5. Interesting that the adaptive sports suspension is now discontinued due to low uptake.

Good read - dealer sent it to me yesterday. No styling changes for the A5 by the looks of it but the black pack is a welcome addition and I am sure will be the most popular choice going forward.

20's on the black edition is interesting, apart from that I have all of those extra's on my S Line as it is.

I did always think the S Line coming with 18's as standard was pretty tight of Audi, I'm yet to upgrade mine. Also folding mirrors is a welcome addition, about time they did that.

Vorsprung edition basically looks like every extra possible added on.

20s sounds a bit much, you would definitely need adaptive dampers and they can be a pain to keep unmarked on the roads today, there's so little rubber to protect them. 19s look perfect on a couple like the A5. On bigger cars lile an A6 or A7, sure, 20s can look good.

Massive step backwards scrapping adaptive suspension, I have it on my S5 and would not buy a car without it, it would make me change brand even to get it.

Still no heated steering wheel option either, shame on you Audi, you can get this on a ****** Vauxhall Corsa now, call yourself a luxury car brand ***

Terrible about the adaptive suspension - the difference is huge!

I have a heated steering wheel in my S5??

They removed the heated steering wheel option in the UK, it's not like it's cold here in Winter or anything, they blamed it on lack of uptake, they're all built in the same factory, how hard is it to fit a heated steering wheel from the parts bin if thats what the customer wants, also there was never a heated steering wheel option if you wanted the flat bottomed wheel. I'll probably go back to BMW when this lease is up, they give customers the options they want and also know how to write software for the ZF gearbox unlike Audi

Agree about the ZF box - my parents cars (640d and 540i) have the ZF and it performs light years better in both.

Even more so the parking heater that you can get in Germany - that runs from petrol and can be activated per timer or remote. Had that in every car I owned in Germany and had the Webasto retrofitted here in the UK in my old A6.

I don't get it either - my mind was blown seeing how you could get the Black Edition everywhere but the UK (S5) - I can only imagine - and that is the only reason I can think of as Audi refused so far to respond to mails and Social Media, is that it is about supportability and not necessarily the ability to actually fit said extras .. As you say - they are being build in the same factory, so why not offer these things. Now if you buy a car you can have it with up to 5 years of warranty I think .. so Audi needs to be able to fix these issues, if they arise, within a certain SLA .. Sure you could argue that parts can be overnighted from Germany - but maybe that is one reason - same with recalls .. it might become administrative expensive to have the infrastructure only for a handful of customers.

As I say - it might not even make sense - my reasoning behind the stupidity - but as I said - I asked Audi before and they refused to respond. In fact, I asked Audi again on Twitter.

There you go - Germany's decision - not UK.

Well bot BMW and Mercedes offer it so if Audi want to be taken seriously as a competitor why don't they offer the heated steering wheel, once you've had one you don't want to go back, it's just lovely in Winter, when my S5 lease is up I won't be buying another Audi if that's their attitude, how about giving the customer what they want, why would the factory give a ****, I know one thing and that it was a hugely popular option with BMW as it only costs about £150 so everyone ticked it. Audi are seriously missing a trick, profit aside it's supposed to be a luxury (ish) car brand.

We had a heated steering wheel in our last fiesta, got one also as standard in the new one, never used it once and I would rather have saved money if it was a pay for option..

Saw someone on Twitter ask Audi UK about a Black Edition last week. They replied they had no news about anything coming up?

I posted this but no response

Thanks mate, drastic changes to the lights surely not as my S Line will have the cool sweeping rear indicators which progress outwards

Sorry, am I correct in all A5 B9 2018 S Line come with rear sweeping indicators? The new cool lights which extend outwards in phases like a video game, my only way of describing lol... in the direction I indicate

Just checked. Dynamic indicators on rear standard. If you want them on the front you have to get the Matrix LED package

Adaptive suspension was only discontinued for the Sport trim though right? Not S-Line and above?

Why Friday? Why not 1st September for the 68 plate?

In mid June I ordered an A5 s-line 3.0 TDI 286 in Daytona grey with 19"wheels, comfort & sound, tech pack, adaptive suspension, pan roof, parking assistance pack, driving assistance pack (tour) extended LED pack, storage pack, electric seats with memory, but I've still not got a build date and they are talking about long delays. I've been worried that while this is going on the black edition would be released, but now I see there is this Vorsprung edition which basically has everything I've ordered and more for about the same money. Where do you think I stand in getting my order changed to a Vorsprung? I'm sure they'll say they aren't taking orders on that yet, in which case I may just have to cancel - would I then lose my deposit?

As its not gone to build yet you should be able to change it and should you cancel you should be refunded your deposit..
