Don't mind the exterior look of that. In S1 trim, I think it'll look quite sporty. And if they build an RS1 ...........
However.......
They've obviously bought a job lot of old Focus ST alloys.
Not keen on the Colour inserts in the interior
It's larger than the old car. That's because everyone who bought an A1 wished it was bigger ????????
Having just specced the current S1 to my spec, it's coming out at £32,645. That's a lot for a small car.
Next S1 will be (similar spec) about £34,000
Any RS1 will no doubt be £40k. But with PCP deals, they'll be everywhere.
Seams like every new car is getting this look now. New Fiesta, New Megane etc. Look ridiculous to me.
But I guess, they have to pander to the new breed of car buyers. The Millennial's who want all these touch screens and everything configurable. 7 throttle maps, 10 gearbox settings, 5 steering setting etc. Drives me up the wall.
Build a sporty car, make it sporty from the outset, and ditch all the ****** settings.

They won't do this, such is the car industry now its getting more and more like a TV shop inside premium cars now . ...
Fair play to Audi they have tried to jazz it up on the exterior/interior .. . It will sell big time but this trend for dull grey paints is really pushing the limits of blandness
You are spot on about bland paint choices pal. Was looking at the choices on standard A3's currently and you have: grey / white / black / grey / white / black / silver / grey / a horrible blue / grey / a weird red / oh and another grey ... wtf ?

Virtual Cockpit will be standard, the entry level models just get a smaller touchscreen compared to the higher end models.
Ah.... I see, so still £1200 for the technology package lol there's always a catch mate always lol

Just hope you can spec B&O separate to advanced key! They seem to want to make you have the comfort and sound pack now to get B&O but I'm quite happy using the key!
You can only spec B&O with keyless go, so the car thieves can crank up `Da Toons` when they simply drive off from outside your property
Keyless was a separate option when l configured my car mate, the comfort and sound pack wasn't a option on a Black Edition S3
But l am sure it will change
Personally speaking the new S3 is going to have go some for me to choose another one 2 years from now ... .. Never buy a Audi or any car in its first year of production why... Price = lack of discount and spec = this always improves ie Colour and Alloy wheel choices increase. No Doubt there will be the Madatory Grey Launch Edition as this seems to be the trend for smaller class Audi's now= Q2, A1.... Audi are extremely predictable
nothing within the current nor next range of Audi A1/A3 to tempt me out of my 4yr old S3, imo just change for changes sake (but i do get the reasons why Audi do it).
mine still goes fine, costs nowt to run and looks as good as the day I got it (other than the broken grill a la wild boar strike).
maybe an RS1 i guess but would have to be both manual and 3 door
already looked at RS4 (not value for money imo), new RS5 looks like somebody sat on the front........

Know what you mean. My S3 Saloon, although boring to drive does everything I need and want it to do. Just had a weeks holiday in Wales. Fitted all our stuff in the boot, was comfortable to drive down on the motorway, great sound system (B&O), and quick enough to get past what I needed to on single carriageways. The car looks as good today as when it first came out. Given the new S3 will be over £40k, and will probably offer nothing more other than more advances Tech.
While in Wales I decided to drive the Evo Triangle. Some good roads, but certainly not worth the trip down alone (which I once thought about doing), but those roads just highlighted the S3's lack of fun. Can cover the ground quickly, but not exactly thrilling
No gurantee I’ll like it all, my plan has always been once this PCP comes to an end I’m more than likely to pick up something used as my mileage has dropped from over 15k a year to 5k now.

I really don’t like the look of the new A7, it looks over complicated even though it’s intended to be the opposite. No doubt the next 3 will take aspects from that.
I will change my mind over and over before I do take the plunge but the above are the ones which keep coming back to me.
Back to the OP if you could get a very good deal on a facelift I’d take it, whilst the latest gen has its flaws it is still a very good package and still looks pretty current.
That doesn’t look too bad but it does look a tad like a DS3. Can see the central screen being distracting.
I seriously think premium brands are losing the plot.......or relying on people's desires to have premium brands.

£29060 4 years ago. . 3years ago my S3 sportback started at £34000, l presume yours was a 3 door manual car?

Got my pre-faceflift before the price hikes, so it feels quite good value now.
Can't justify a facelift and my miles are low too.
I would usally be looking around now ready to order in Aug/Sept for March 19 but I'm quite contect atm.
Saying that ... nothing is calling out to me that is better than I have - so that could be a factor too !?
Very happy to pay more off my current car though and maybe even pay it off in full.
My plan atm is to wait for the next gen S3 (unless I could be tempted into a new gen Merc A35/45 or Golf R).
But my current car looks like new so hey, I will hold on to my money rather than give a lump of it to Audi every 3 years lol

It was 6 months before I seen another one on the road.

With the Type R it was quite simple....if you wanted one it was full list price, that was alway a given. It was around 6 months before any discounts became available via carwow and that was a maximum of £1500.
It felt good to own a rare and desirable model of car.

48 month PCP. Bang on with the mileage. Immaculate inside and out. 23k on the clock, 65 plate S-Line with S-Tronic. TBH I’d probably buy it at the end of the PCP if it wasn’t for being solid black and a 3 door. Daytona 5 door (or saloon) next time!

Sticking with the 2 litre for well over 400bhp... will be interesting to see what the A35 is like, I guess although 300bhp Merc will be looking to produce better performance figures than the existing S3.
All good competition for the next generation of the S3/RS3.
I might just wait right up to the model update and get one of the last outgoings, after all, all the "niggles" should have been tweaked out and we will probably get a few extras as standard.

True pal, once did it with the outgoing "bubble" shape Focus, you know Colin McCrae/Sainz shape, last one in the showroom before the fugly square shape one came out.
Anyhoo it was loaded with it all back then such as AHEM,,,,

- 17" alloys
- Wider wing mirrors.
- MP3 player.
- Clear indicators.
- Spoiler.
AND it had all the previous years issues ironed out, I thought it was fab. Like you mate not overly keen on all the gadgets, still only use my smartphone for calls and texts ***. I'll hold out and chop it in before the big change and hopefully reap the rewards.
