Hey, so I was looking at purchasing some 18” Alloys for my A3, my car has not been lowered but I’m reading that on my read it would be 18” x 9.5” with a 39 offset. Does this mean it would rub ? What are the biggest size for an A3 which won’t rub? I would like to put coil overs on in the future aswell :)

There was 18x9.5 ET45 on my MK5 R32 when I bought is and I immediately took them off - they looked a little ridiculous, just too wide. There wasn’t much clearance between the rim and the strut and they poked out too much too. If you’re looking at ET39 it will be more poke.

Stick to an 18x8.5 ET45’ish IMO.

My current Ultras are 18x8 ET45 and I sometimes get rubbing.

What tyre size are you using on the Ultras out of interest? I've seen some 18x7.5 wheels I like currently on an A4 but guessing the tyres would be too big. Waiting to hear back about the profile but they're 245 wide so I reckon 45 profile would be right for an A4...

My Ultras are running 225/40/18.

245 on a 7.5” rim sounds too wide.

245 40 18 is good on a 8J if applicable .

Decent road compliant profile .

Good footprint and cutting down wheel weight.

Hi so a 18”x8.5” is too large for me then ?

I see, because all of the rims on this site are 18x8.5 (well some aren’t)

Sorry, I was meant to say stick to 18x8.5 ET45’ish maximum in my opinion. Others with more experience can confirm.

They won’t be too large to your first question but you need to consider the offset and tyre size too.

Na, there is a combination on this site.
