I’ve recently purchased an A3 1.8 TFSI S-tronic. I’ve only done 1,800 miles on it and I’ve realised there’s a weird noise in the car, it was probably always there but I’ve just noticed it now.
Basically I can only hear it when I open my windows so it’s something in the outside (a loud growling noise or like something is loose, it comes when After I slowly slow down and left my foot of the break or slightlyyyy on speed pumps that’s why I thought it’s the gear box when down shifting)(loud growling noise outside just comes for like 2 secs or 3 then goes away) , the noise is only coming from left side near the front left wheel and that’s near where the S tronic gear box is located I believe.
So I am wondering if it’s actually the gearbox and if it is, ist just because it needs S tronic oil and filter change which needs to be done after 30,000 miles ( car is 33,000 now). Or ist another problem in the gearbox?
Thank you very much for you help in advance!!

Start by looking at the obvious and cheap stuff.
Tyres fitted correctly and inflated properly? Nothing stuck to them?
Wheel bearings by tugging the wheels to look for play.
Brakes healthy and clean, no road debris in there?
Engine undertray fitted correctly?

Was it bought from a dealer? If so get them to investigate
I did book an appointment with Audi but no I bought from another dealer through Buyacar.com (I did inform them and they have asked me to take it to a VAT registered garage and produce a quote showing what the problems are and if there is how much it is)

Yeah I’ve actually checked everything in there, the pads do make slight squeaky noises but a mechanic told me the pads look alright

Do exactly what the Company have told you and get it checked by someone who is vat registered reputable garage just in case you do more damage by playing around with it and end up lossing out when the company say you might av interferred

Update: please reply to this:
Well it wasn’t the breaks or anything in the wheel. It’s the DSG, and I’ve seen online and a lot of people seem to have this problem.
I only hear it when for example when am slowing down (downshifting) when gear changes from 4th to 3rd, the clunking noise is quite loud and stays on for 2 seconds or so. However in 3rd 2nd and 1st there is just a bit of noise but it’s not as loud as when the gear shifts from 4th to 3rd. What is the problem and what is the solution?
Thank you very much in advance.

Why don't you take the advice off what ( buyacar.com ) has told you and that way you will find out what it is or follow what @samuelh_888 has said in his reply as theses are 2 good replies
