Apy ecu

Basically had an enquiry about an apy engine i have for sale, client has a Leon lcr and has a bam in it, he wants to buy my engine along with turbo aswell as the my ecu to save custom map costs. My car has been badger 5 mapped.

Could he run my apy ecu in his Leon without excessive difficulties?

While in theory he could use your ECU he would need to de-immo it and convert his wideband LCR to dumb as mud narrow band... its going backwards in terms of tuning...

Essentially he would be silly to use your narrow band ECU in his wideband car... if he can't do the conversion himself then the cost of getting it done would be the same as getting it mapped...

Tell the guy to get it mapped on his existing ECU (sorry)

Thank you tuffty, cleared that one up, he doesn't want the turbo anymore so it isn't applicable anymore but still interesting all the same

BTW thanks for all the help you've contributed through the past, i can recall you helping me with many queries which have helped on many occasions, my 8l days are winding down, car being dismantled for parts and soon the financial shackles of s3 ownership will be off! Great forum, lots of helpful folk.

Just had another thought what are the differences between the two engine codes i am pretty sure its a few subtle changes nothing to drastic but if you were to fit apy block and head into a bam what changes would you be inclined to sort?

VVT or the lack of on an APY... APY also has the SAI port which AMK/BAM doesn't

Other than that they are mechanically the same
