Diesel issue with a 02 a4. Any help would be appreciated. Have vacume pump changed filter changed non return valve fitted and still it seems to be starving itself of diesel won't jump start only pull start and now if you pull it and it starts it's cutting out after a few seconds or if you take your foot off the accelerator she cuts out straight away
Is the pump in the tank working ?. The filter on the bottom of the pump can get clogged up limiting flow or the actual pump fails. If you have access to VCDS you can run it on the output test and check the flow. Alternatively you can run 12V to the pump direct and check the flow if you remove the fuel line from the filter.
Doesn't that pump only prime the filter up to pressure For starting and turn off again (runs for approx 2 secs) so it wouldnt explain the starving itself and cutting out.?
The pump does prime the system and switches off but it should start running again when the engine is running. And will run continuously when the engine is running.
Oh must try that because the float stoped working on it aswell so there is probably a issue there aswell. Will update again
