Hello

AGU has ignition a module a 3 wires coils.
so I if want to upgrade it to newer 4 wires coils like R8 or 2.0 TFSI I have to some
wizardry on wires :D
is it easy ??

cheers

Not quite as straight forward as that...

Its known as an ICM delete (ICM - ignition control module) as the AGU uses a seperate ignition module on dumb coils while later VAG cars the ignition amplifiers are built into the coil packs..

Very popular mod in the states on AEB engined A4's/Passats etc...

so better spark would be created ? just trying to understand the benefits of such a conversion/modification

dont think so, the whole problem comes after 4 wire black coil packs which the internal ignition mosfet/transistor over heated and burnt.
VW never had recall for the 3 wire coil since they have ICM and I do believe they are fail proof unless an idiot over torque screws and crack
shell as it happened to mine.

I can say its better as never dyno nor dig them, thing I can say is that the R8 coils are better, how much better I dont know.
I was looking for conversion to get ride of ICM and putting some red stuff on my engine however I give up as I find it out
it mostly seem to be marketing than anything els.

for better park you can simply delete 2K ohm resistor from factory setup + use non resistor spark plugs .

ICM delete is so easy, just cross 5 pin to 4 pin except middle 5 GND ;)

set of coil pack is only 94
