In my media selection I see WLAN I've set this up on my phone. My phone says connected but the MMi says not connected and I can't seem to get it to connect. I do have Bluetooth streaming but wondered what this would bring. Or is it useless without the Sim card slot?

My Samsung A5 2017 doesn't support rsap ( remote Sim access point) so I think this is the issue

I believe that the WLAN on an MMI 3G+ without sim is only used for streaming music. You will need compatible app on your phone like bubbleupnp. If you get the extra hardware to get google maps working on you nav unit you can have passengers use the WLAN to access the internet.

I've just installed bubbleupnp and got it working! It's better quality than Bluetooth and controls all from the MMi
