Fuel / Oil additives

I use Shell V-power and the Castrol recommended long life oil and trust that the additives already in the oil and fuel are sufficient. I've always regarded fuel and oil additives as hocus pocus with a few exceptions (one exception being fuel additives for classic cars designed to be run on leaded fuel but that is not relevant here, I happen to have such a car though).

What classic do you have if you don't mind sharing?
 
I use an additive for my 1985 80 Sport fuel as well- it doesn't do huge mileage so not expensive and could be good insurance !
A4 & S3 super unleaded and that's it !

Nothing that exciting. I've got a convertible Morris Minor that I've had since I was 17 (and it was old then). It's partly in bits in the garage at the moment. It has done over a million miles though! The genuine convertibles are quite rare these days -quite a few 2 door saloons were chopped about and made into "convertibles" but mine is a factory original. She's "smoke grey" which is actually a shade of light blue.

As already indicated above, fuel additives these days do little more than emulate "premium fuels" - Personally, I don't see any need to put additives into modern synthetic engine oils, if any action is taken it is probably best to simply change those engine oils more often as their protective properties will become more and more eroded the longer they are exposed to obnoxious combustion gases, carbon and "wear particles".

That's great that you've kept it, more than a car.
 
agree with Retroman, change the oil (s) more frequently - cheap way of keeping the internals clean and well lubed!
