Just got myself a black 2011 A3 Sportback and I love it. It's my fourth car, but the first I actually like!

It's in great condition and want to keep it like that. I've been looking at all the cleaning and detailing kit that's out there, but I'm a bit lost. I have all the following on my list but not sure if I'm looking at the right stuff, if it's overkill or what.

Can I get some advice on the list below as to if it's right for my car:
  • Meguiars Gold Class Car Shampoo and Conditioner 1.89 Litre
  • Meguiars Ultimate Compound 450ml
  • Meguiars Endurance High Gloss Tyre Protection 473ml
  • Bilt Hamber Double Speed-Wax
  • Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel Cleaner 1 Litre
  • Microfibre Cleaning Cloths, 10 Pack
  • 2x buckets
  • Rolson Micro Fibre Noodle Wash Mitt
  • Wonder Wheels Wheel Sealant 300ml
  • CarPlan Surface Cleaner
  • Prestone Max Visibility Screen Wash Winter 4L
  • Castrol EDGE 5W-30 LL Engine Oil, 4L
  • Protecton Coolant
  • WD40 High Performance White Lithium Grease 250ml (to sort the slight creak when opening the doors)
Any advice would be great. I'm kinda new to cars and not really sure what I'm doing!

To your list:
Shampoo, doesn't matter too much witch one you using, but better to go with devil foam or turtle wax if you can (also can check some comparisons in auto magazines) also good if got some clear coat sealant and wax
Compound -> you mean rubbing compound? If yes, is to use it to remove little clear coat scratches (it will remove also part of clear coat, so watch out)
tyre protector the best ones was hellfrauds one this year in auto magazine, but you will check it out when using it if you happy with it
wax -> i m using turtle wax and happy with it (need also special cloth for it)
wheel cleaner -> i'm just using bucket with water + car shampoo and sponge or special soft brush
microfibre -> be sure they are soft and aren't too thin
buckets, take 1 with bottom grid
wheel sealant -> don t think you will need it but if you want it
surface cleaner -> is not kitchen xD you will clean your car with pressure washer I assume, if you do it right, don't need it, better take some PLAK for dashboard check ATOS, I'm using it and 100% happy with it, also you might likle odour remover as well upholstery/leather cleaners
screenwash, doesn't matter too much, all doing the job, was using prestone and the tesco one, not much differnce, better get some serious wipers from bosch or valeo
about oil there is a thread about it (http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/ultimate-final-8p-oil-thread.221763/) and you didn't specified your engine but personally I avoid castrol and stick with quantum or shell (important to stick with wv normatives 501.00, 505.00 and 507.00 depend of engine)
coolant need to be red g13+ otherwise it will do build-up on your water pump etc...
about wd-40 normal one trade size is the most universal and the best for the mixed jobs, if need to grease something, best it the silicone grease (but not near heat sources) that will never dry, also take some brake cleaner, for de-greasing.

Overkill imho. I ALWAYS go to town on cleaning products when I've got a new car, and then over time not so bothered.

Find a middle ground with the products you buy, Auto Glym are excellent and won't break the bank.

Shampoo, wax, window cleaner and alloy wheel cleaner....job done.

Autoglym came top in the annual 2017 Autoexpress - which in recent years they've been lower down the list. New formula apparently. Eurocar parts have a sale on this week so you can pick up some cheap gear online and then go collect.

There is a huge detailing section on here with some real pro's, all depends on your budget. Go have a read

ECP and CP4L always got discount codes, this week was (something)70 xD

I forget the runner up on the Autoexpress test but at ECP you can pick up 5L for £20 ...

I see you have a mix of bilt hamber and meguires.
I`m a fan of all the bilt hamber products, they do shampoos too, and much more cost effective than maguires, and just as good if not better in my opinion.
And my most important and best product I've ever bought is my Clay mitt, much easier than clay bars by far, makes claying your car as easy as a wash, going to do it once a year now.
Gtechniq C5 wheel sealant.
Tuff shine tyre gloss.
