I'm pretty chuffed with my old 2004 2.0 tdi (bkd) just done 380 mile on less than half a tank, still showing 365 miles on the dis

Long term average Mpg using fuelly app is 38/40 mpg ( thats mixed driving of say 45% motorway 55% normal roads/town)
Mines got a DTUK CRD-T2 tuning box fitted thou so around 215/225bhp

I expected WAY BETTER than what i get, the DTUK box has made it better thou...currently on map 1 with + 1 setting

Which 97 do you use, run ok? I have a facelift using shell 99 but at £1.33 a litre it's getting painful....

I generally fill up once a week (usually with a half tank or so left), but based on the mileage I get out of the half tank I could probably do around 500km (310 miles) out of a full tank. This is with about 75% city driving in traffic and definitely not driving the car in any sort of an efficient manner

I use BP Ultimate or the Texaco equivalent and everything seems to be smooth and responsive as I'd expect. I live in Northern Ireland so we don't get 99 over here and even 97 takes a bit of planning when filling up. It took 4 petrol stations yesterday to find one that had Super.

It's purely down to demand I think. Even filling stations that offered 97 have stopped selling it and when I asked one owner why, he said there just wasn't the demand for it.

Interesting. thats diesel territory.... If only petrol was cheaper in the EU than diesel. I might re-think things if it were...

Best MPG: 43 doing a motorway journey with a lot of 50 mph average speed cameras.
Driving around town it gets to around 300 or slightly under. On the other hand, if you used the whole tank doing 43mpg on a long motorway cruise then you'd get over 500 miles I think.

On a break up in north of Scotland. On the 165 mile journey up today, got over 40 mpg for first time ever. Projecting over 400 miles to the tank which is about 100 higher than normal. Hope to post more pics of the car around the North Coast 500 route in next few days

Sorry for the blurred photograph but actually got it upto 45.3 MPG basically driving on the M25 through speed restrictions. Averaged 40.1 MPG over the 200 mile journey despite driving it 'enthusiastically' for the last 20 miles on country roads. Well impressed.
