BKD losing oil

my A3 BKD is losing oil somewhere the min oil light will come on a few months after I topped it up, not leaking anywhere no smoke only little puff of black when I put my foot down any ideas?

How certain are you that it's not leaking anywhere? I was sure mine wasn't leaking but the garage said there were several small areas where mine was "weeping" oil, causing the oil warning to pop up maybe 7-8 months after having it serviced, I had some joints took apart and cleaned up and refitted and some gaskets replaced which appears to have helped.... these engines do "use" a small amount of oil anyway though so its not uncommon to have to add a litre or so now and then

not 100% on the leaks tbh I know it's leaking a bit from one of the intercooler pipes but nothing serious no oil spots on the floor where i park over night, next time I put it in the garage I'll ask the mechanic to have a quick gander for me. thanks for the reply.

You say 7 to 8 months, that's a long time between top ups, besides BKD's are very good at oil consumption, low I mean.
It's quite common to have a little oil collecting in the low points of the intercooler pipes and the seals showing signs of weeping. It's a ten year old car and probably time to renew the oil seals.
Nothing wrong with your motor mate.

Remember these engines have an under tray which would catch any oil so you wouldn't neccasserily notice oil drops on the floor.

thanks for the reassurance :) I've spent well over 3k on repairs and maintenance and would hate for something else to go wrong haha, I'll just keep an eye on it for now thanks again.

I may jack it up at the weekend take the under tray off and have a proper investigation, im sure my cars fine and I'm worrying about nothing.

check for inlet manifold seal as well the couplings to turbo (bottom of oil filter) as well good practice will be to get the engine bay washed and after a week check it for spots.
