Hi
Has anyone repaired the ABS sensor ring in the front wheel? Mine is throwing G47 front ABS sensor fault but i have replaced the sensor without any sucess, the fault is still there. My guess is that the sensor ring has been damaged.

Its an Audi A3 -07

Thanks
Marcus

Try cleaning the sensor ring first. Wire brush the grooves as dirt collects over the years.

I cannot see the sensor ring. Is it a part of the driveshaft or the wheel bearing? I pulled out the sensor but the sensor ring seems to be inaccessible.

I did the rear pads on my A3 last week and am sure I read (perhaps in the Haynes?) that the ABS ring ( for the rear at least ) is located inside the wheel bearing housing....
I also renewed a front outer driveshaft boot last summer on my A3 and was surprised to not see an ABS ring at all on the driveshaft/CV joint , I know on my B5 A4 the sensor ring was a notched structure on the outer CV joint itself.
Based on this I'm guessing the A3 front is like the rear and is located inside the wheel bearing assembly too?

Issue sorted. It was the ABS ring built in to the wheel bearing that was stripped. Some kind of metal flake had got stuck in there and scraped it. New bearing and all is fine again.

That's good and now we all know where the ABS ring is :yahoo:
