Basically im wanting a boost gauge and others, but i dont want them on the pillars or start ripping my air vents out, is there like an app or anything i can get where i can have it on an ipad or phone where i can put it on my wind screen and see it all on my phone rather than ripping my interior apart?.

you mean an app that plugs into the obd port and then via bluetooth gives you a bunch of data? you mean like an obd gauge dashboard? Like the ones seen from a google search if you put in the term obd gauge dashboard. hmmmm...I need to investigate

Try DashCmd from the App Store, both iPhone and Android. It's about £8.00 and you'll need a bluetooth obd reader which are a couple of quid on Amazon or eBay.

TorquePro is also good one.
Another option is AutoPolar fis upgrade, gives you data in the factory dis but only where radio stations and sat nav are displayed so that's one data at the time, not as seen on vw that has full display of data. It's also much more expensive at about 270€.

I have Carista which I purchased from Amazon (£35) but they don't seem to do any more. As well as giving me access to diagnosis and basic customisations (not as comprehensive as VCDC) it works with DashCmd.

I'm pretty sure many of the other bluetooth obd dongles work too - make sure it's compatible with your phone. This one on eBay...

FWIW I'm probably going to go for a vent gauge if I ever need to monitor.
