Conrgats! With a S-Tronic S3 is a pretty neat piece of kit and yes, I also wanted to have just a Stg1 map when I bought my S3 and things escalated a bit.
buying a new s3, semi auto or manual ?

Interesting read. I think ill be going stronic for sure. And one thing ill look out for is the service history of it. I would say ill take warranty out but i want to tune the car (when i get it)

My first auto is the s3 and got to say i love it, such much easier for the driver and with paddles its easy to bang it down if you want to, gear changes are super quick also and really makes a nice sound when up changing. Id go s tronic over manual everytime now
I owned a manual s3 and s tronic s3 and manual doesnt compare in my book

Ive had stronic in a 2.0tdi a3 last year. Only drove it few times as bought it to sell. Was great. Then had a bmw auto which again was nice but not quick in the changes. Ive left a deposit on a black edition s3 dsg. Hopefully pick up at weekend

Good man, well these changes are nice and quick, the only thing i dont rate is the sport mode, yes it keep it in a nice gear so you can blast out of a corner but i hate how high it revs the engine, i dont like to take it to the redline before shifting, sounds perticularly cringy if the engine noise is louder than your exhaust.

I'm over 5 years now with my S-Tronic and I cannot believe how good it is. Just amazing technology. As for the Audi, I should have gone German years ago. Even with 8 years in my modified Subaru, the S3 wipes the floor with it with S-Tronic.
