3 years 30,000 miles 3 new batteries yuasa battery last one year and looses cells ..luckily 5 year guarantee whats going on !
Do you have a camera that carries on recording after the car is parked. These really screw with batteries. Also Varta silver would be my recommendation for a battery.
No its just as is , cars in daily use , putting in 40 mile fast round trips , loosing cells is novel , may be the hard springs are shaking them to bits ..
Do you have a anything connected like a dongle for the torque app as that left in can drain your battery.
Nope, nothing just the standard set up . its ran fine for a year , then the battery falls to bits Talking with one one of the guys from the local tyre mot chain shops , says don't sell yuasa , as had too many returns yuasa no longer made in japan , sell bosch/varta only another new £112 exchange batter = another years happy motoring
I was having the same situation with “Exide” batteries. Ended up taking the plunge on a Bosch S5 096 because I’ve got the space for it in my cage in the boot. Been pretty solid so far Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had a battery drain issue a few years ago on my car and it ended up being the heated door locks that stayed on, using a very small amount of power, however still causing a drain!! Maybe worth checking for that, i believe there was a fuse for it which i just ended up removing, as I never used the key to get into the car anyway.
Heated door locks? I don’t think our cars have that...... What car are you referring to? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’ve seen door lock heater modules on eBay, so that would suggest it’s a thing. Maybe an optional extra? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Definitely the door locks, was possibly an optional extra, I didnt even know I had them, till we had to check to see where the drain was coming from and it ended up being them!!
Final check , shows just 13v 3000 rpm and fails to charge , with 'all' switched on , alternator seems to be slightly low on voltage , just making it , ..may account for the battery's falling over ...
Hi guys I've made a video on the 2012 Audi A3 SE 2..0 and i talk about the issues I've encountered with the car whilst doing the review.
The car's a serial fault generator , ID the alternator is k-nacked , disturbed the run on pump and that now leaks , oh and while where under the front, happen to notice, the power steering cooling loop pipe is more rust that metal .. found the only one on e-bay advertised as TT . luckily , 2001/2003 S3 Bam is the same , the TT bits are usually in better condx and lower mileage Fixed the leak from the sump plug , now it just leaks water at the front .... fixed something ..bliss )
