So today I started to tackle changing my timing chains, as the drivers side bank one has jumped and now it won't run.

I have removed all the front end, rads, etc. Removed all the loom, injectors, inlet manifolds and rocker covers. All the cams and followers look ok, no damage.

Next step is to pull out the drive shafts, disconnect the prop shaft, turbo exhaust etc. And remove the engine and box as one lump.

Has anyone removed the lump from this before, what's the best plan of attack? Drop the front subframe out onto a skate with the engine and box still attached and then slide out? Hoist out with a crane?

Any help appreciated!

Is there anything else worth doing while I have it out??

I'm taking the heads of and fully decoking the intakes, also EGR delete.

Personally I wouldn't take the heads off if it has no issues there unless you think there may have been some damage due to the slipped timing. How many miles has the engine done ?

170k, the intakes are really coked up. I haven't got a picture inside the manifolds, but the EGR port was completely blocked up with Coke!
