Hi all,

Looking for some advice on where to go with my S3, in short I'll be taking off my down pipe in the near future and want to know if it is possible to inspect/clean the turbo and/or the actuator whilst it's off?

Also car is stock otherwise, would it be best to stick to the plan and delete the pre-cat or spend some money and get the 'TurboRevs' de-cat pipe (will this throw an EML?)

As always, money is the main consideration.

Cheers in advance,

Scott

As you've said that money is the main consideration here, I'd either go for the pre-cat delete (free as you're doing this yourself) or save up a little more and at least go for the Pipewerx DP.

A fellow member spoke to Revo and I've spoken to a Revo dealer of which both said that the pre-cat delete is enough to go stage 2 as this is the most restrictive part of the stock exhaust, although you've still got a harsh turn immediately after the DP starts. I'm on a very tight budget at the moment and have just had the pre-cat delete done, the turbo spools up a little quicker and it's a bit louder when giving it some as well.

I've had a quick search on here for feedback on the TurboRevs of which I can't find any for the 8P, a couple of 8L owners said that the one for their system was ok but I honestly wouldn't risk it as there's no feedback on the 8P (buy cheap, buy twice comes to mind). The cheapest DP which has been well rated by several 8P owners is the Pipewerx DP which you can pick up for £275 on ebay.

If you go down the de-cat route then this will through up an error of which a stage 2 map is required in order to remove it.

I don't know about the turbo/actuator part.

Remember the decat route will produce problems at MOT time

Cheers guys, I'm aware of the MOT issue, I think the pre-cat would be the best route for now and maybe put something towards an second hand induction kit or something.

If I can get in about the turbo to clean up parts that'd be ideal, can anyone confirm?
