RS3 grille on S3? facelift model

I need to find a grill like this in the UK for my PFL but probably not black ED cause my car is estoril blue and it doesn't go, all the ones I seem to come across still have the solid bit going through the middle (bottom pic)

Planning on taking my front plate off and sticking it on the side

Any ideas guys?

that would be the US spec grill, i think your dealer can order one for you? if you are wanting a genuine part that is

i think there is two different variants, one without the adaptive cruise hole thing, and one with it.
also the slight difference in PFL and the sharper FL grill
 
Guys... I don't sell them, I was just going to order one for @DJAlix He helped me many times with coding in the past... Anyway, I guess if he agrees, I can tag on his order and ship them all together to him at once, and if he's ok with shipping them out to you guys. But again, this is one off order only...

@seanbeckerleg Are you talking about RS or S version with ACC cutout? Black optic?

@Spinstorm Yes, they have RS3 grill with ACC cutout, but sensor NOT included, they're direct swap for FL S3.

They're in stock but I'll need to check the shipping cost to UK (I'm in Hong Kong), the process will be the vendor will ship to me and I'll send them out to UK, so expect it to be up to 2 weeks delivered to UK after ordering.

If you want a USA spec grill I ordered mine from my local dealer, cost was around £260

Happy to do anything to help out, and if people are up for it then we can split the shipping. Not sure if import duty might be an issue tho.

Can be disabled but I am betting a "vinyl plate" is in the plans.

Vinyl plate for across the grill? Kind of defeats the point really. I want a US spec grill but I wouldn't want to put a plate back over it again. :(

I would definitely want one with the ACC cutout if we can arrange that, but where does the number plate go?

It's a vinal plate that has been cut around the headlamp washers so still fully functional

Hi Larbel.

I'm very interested in an RS blaxk optics version with the acc window to fit an S3 2017.
If I can tag in on an order. If greatly appreciate the opportunity to do so... if it'll be a problem, it's cool though.

How do I get a UK number plate on the grill?

How easy (or complicated) is it to fit this? Is this a take it to the local garage job because the whole front of the car has to come off?

There's 4 clips near the ACC cutout for the license plate holder, but like I said, the Chinese spec has smaller plate than U.K. you might need to use your existing holder or order one from your dealer. The vendor will take picture of the holder for me tomorrow.

The front bumper has to come off for the install, not that difficult if you know your way around cars.

@seanbeckerleg i'm cool with that, just waiting for the license plate holder pictures and the package weight from the vendor to get the shipping cost.
 
This is the size of the plate holder that the grills come with, not sure if it's legal to use smaller plate in the UK?

As long as there is something to drill into or attach a license plate holder then 4 claims/screws is a large enough area. Something like that Audi sport number plate frame.

I’d need to get it done by a garage - but that’s fine.

@DJAlix @seanbeckerleg @Spinstorm Ok guys... the package weights 15 kgs each!!!! Coz they're packed with wooden frame support!!! The shipping is GBP 60 for surface parcel but that would take up to 2 months!!! EMS/air parcel is GBP 130 each and 2-7 days... Not sure if it's still worth it so let me know...

And the good news is the vendor does have U.K. long plate holder in stock, but hasn't gotten back to me with prices yet...
 
Ok the vendor can repack them into one 20 kgs package, the air freight cost is GBP 180 so GBP 60 a piece... But you will need to figure out the inland cost, let me know.

Looking at the numbers, even with the higher delivery charge of £130 the grill I am after comes in some £250 cheaper than it is here in the UK, however I forgot about factoring in the potential import duty which will bring the price pretty close to what it is here. Appreciate your time and effort on this tho :)

I've just been quoted from the dealer £868 for the grill. I don't really have any other choices available to me at current so I'll definitely be interested if we could club together and getting a better deal somewhere else.

Here's the recap...

RS3 grill (with or without ACC cutout) with short plate holder - GBP450
UK spec license plate holder - GBP25
Shipping - GBP180 for 3 pcs
PayPal - 4%

Working out the rest with Alex to confirm...
 
@larbel maybe it would be cheaper to ship them individually?

The delivery cost would be less perhaps and the total cost less so less import tax.

It won't be.. Individually packed the crates are 15 kgs each and the shipping alone is GBP130! Just wait till Alex confirms, we're working out something...

TBH 3 pcs per package is a handful already, might complicate things if the shipment is too many pcs plus still waiting for Alex to confirm if it's a go.. If someone backs out then you're welcome to take his spot though.

My vendor don't speak English nor care to ship overseas, that's why they need to be shipped to me and I ship them out to UK, again, I'm doing this as a favor and one off only, I'm NOT taking orders sorry...pretty sure you can find them in Europe for the same price range if you have the channel, they're imported after all....
