Buying advice needed

I have a choice of PXing my 2005 B7 S4 Avant against a (dealers) 2012 A3 Sportback 2.0 tdi with 50k miles and a poverty spec, or a 2011 A4 Avant 2.0tdi E SE with 76k miles. Both manual.

I cover about 10k miles per annum.

I like the Avant and it has the minimum 'toys', but don't really need the space an estate offers. The A3 has no extras, but is slightly newer with less miles.

The price of the cars is the same, but which would should I go for?

Imo opinion you've discounted both. The a3 "poverty spec" and the avant as too much space. I'd personally keep looking.

I wouldn't swap what you have for either of those.

I'm struggling to sell the S4. It's really sound, FSH, new tyres etc etc but has a lot of previous owners (7). This is a massive turn off for some people.

I've had very little interest when advertising it and as it the major service is due in 1500 miles, plus new brakes, I'm looking to switch, rather than spend on the current car.
