I turned into the supermarket car park on Saturday with a crunching noise coming from the steering wheel
the air bag light came on and the horn and MFSW stopped working. After trolling the web and removing the air bag ( that was a pain it's held on with spring loaded clips ) then the steering wheel I saw the slip ring which looked like a birds nest in the right hand side of the unit . I have ordered a new one (£ 216.00 ) from Audi which I am going to fit when I get it . my question is do I need to watch for anything in particular or is it a straight swap.
thanks duncans47

It should be a direct swap, but in some cases you need to calibrate the steering wheel angle sensor. VCDS is needed for that.
If the calibration is needed, if the ESP fault light will stays on.
