Cheers Rob. The wheels are reps but I'm so happy with them, excellent quality and finished perfectly. I'm still really happy with my choice and think they suit the car spot on....people always comment on them too. Go on, treat yourself.

two have issues that were not visible initially , once they were stripped the problems were visible.....not sure what route to take now, glad I didn't get any tires yet.

Not that common either, if you want Audi centre caps though they're separate.

Today was 'Auto Glym Extra Gloss Protection' day. It's for the perfectionist apparently, more like something I've had kicking about in the shed for years haha. Seems to work well on the black though.....

i would if I could sell my current 19" rims, and after the latest farce with the 20" rims that i bought that were knackered I am not buying any more used rims.....its either new ones or non at all and i'll stick to my current ones....

Had a total ball ache of a oil change today. Disaster doesn't even cover it.

tell us more then Dani, a problem shared is a problem aired....or something like that....or was it that bad.

Dani mate, fully understand your pain as I too had grief couple weeks ago carrying out the dreaded oil change.

Today is another day and the sun is shining, so have a great day pal.

Have you had an alignment check lately?? A Hunter 4 wheel alignment completely got rid of my rear scrubbing....

I'm running ET35 and 8.5j and no rubbing on mine yet when I was running the old OEM ET43 there was only a few mm between the shock and tyre.

i think more likely to be on the inside , if your on ET 45 with an 8.5j rim ( 6mm wider on both sides compared to oem 8j rim) that's works out at 6mm closer on the inside and outside , but unlikely to be on the outside edge, so that ET 45 on an 8.5j will now be like fitting an 8j rim with an offset of approx ET50 - 51mm because the rim is effectively 6mm closer with the wider 8.5j rim that it would be on the factory 8j spec , also tyre width may not help if they are wider.

The tyres are 255 which in going to have to change. Turns out they are et43 but have found signs of scrubbing on the inner archliner and also against my brand new wings
On a brighter note the cv boot and track rod are changed and no longer leaking grease.
So im going back to my 8.5j et30 which scrubb but only seem to on a bumpy road

either way, even if they are 8.5j with a 255 tyre they will rub the inside lip of the wheel arch on the fronts, you may get away with them on the rear but lots of guys have had the same issues using 255 rubber on the fronts with certain offsets, 235 /35 is the best size for a problem free installation on an 8.5j rim , maybe 225 but you'd need to get the right profile .

Well , was having a cleanout in the garage and came across a set seat covers in box, not sure why I bought them but there was probably a good reason...anyway I thought I'd give them a test fit and they the fit front seat perfectly....look like they are specific fitment covers as they have VW on them with the Berghaus logo.
so then that handles the seat protection for when the weather goes down hill or isses down next week.

Got my car serviced with Fuchs Titan Pro Race S oil and oil and fuel filters as well as getting an Apikol Gearbox mount and Powerflex Snub nose mount fitted, what a difference all of that has made to the car!

For anyone who hasn't changed the mounts I would certainly recommend doing!

What does changing the mounts do to the car?

Snub mount stops movement up and down when accelerating, engine mounts stop it from side to side (can generally feel more vibration when the car is idle if engine mounts need to be replaced).

Thanks Jake. My two engine mounts are worn out, is it worth upgrading to some non-rubber bushes? And I might as well do the snub mount while I'm there and upgrade that?

Depends whether it's diesel or petrol and whether or not you mind a small increase in vibration; if it's a petrol most already have solid mounts, if it's a diesel it'll vibrate a bit more with them but in theory you shouldn't need to replace again and to me it feels like a "race car shake" or something, hard to describe, oh also you'll need to tie back a sensor and ignore it in vag-com (diesel) but it doesn't give any dash lights or anything. I'd replace the snub mount with something a bit more solid either way as they're only cheap and a noticeable improve when accelerating if the original is perished (won't feel the engine go up and down like it's breathing or something).

well still messing around with the alloys, been out this afternoon and started to do some stripping....started off well on two rims but it became more apparent as the stripping progressed it wasn't going to be a 5 min job...lol, so still on two rims and 4 layers of of paint and two layers of laquer removed I think i'm at bare metal now.....so next stage the prepping etc...oh what joys..lol
