As stated they have 10 clips holding them in. The right way is bumper removal..... I used a tiny flat head, microfibre cloth and patience to not mark anything while getting it out.

Can the grille be removed without taking the bumper off?
 
nope, the grill is fitted to the bumper from the inside, same with the rings badge, grill out job so bumper off too, unless you have super long articulated fingers and bionic eyesight...which I don't, but I suspect it may be possible to get the rings off with the grill in situ but I couldn't manage it, but then that's just me..lol

No you can`t the bumper has to come off to get to the clips on the back of the rings,the rings clip into the ring holder i think there`s
about 10 to do.
 
Well there is another option for those who don't want to be dismantling the front of there cars to just change the rings, and, you have a replacement ring badge to refit.
One word for you " dremmel"
It is possible to remove the fitted badge by cutting the small holding tabs from the outside edge with a dremmel or similar device fitted with a fine cutting wheel, BUT, you need a steady hand so as to not catch the grill face area with the cutting wheel, but it is doable.
if you know where the tabs are located you can just slice through with the thin cutting wheel , job done and off it comes.
 
I just can't be ***** to remove the bumper to change the grille, just don't really have the time but I do want to fit the RS grille.
 
sorry dani, there's no halfway house on this mod, it's either whip it off and have a nice new RS grill , or don't and you wont...

I know mate, it's finding those few hours to do it.
 
So dani, have you already got the rs4 style grill? Im not to fussed about the mesh, but id like to de chrome my surround. Unfortunatly ive got the sline bumper, so i cant get any cheap ebay ones to fit.
Im very tempted to have a go at spraying it in situ, like you i dont really fancy tearing the front of the car for the sake of a bit of chrome! my concern is making a mess of it and or getting over spray over the rest of the car.
 
I de chromed my grill in situ. All good

After a week I had a bit of water get under the plastidip on the grill section so peeled that off to leave the grill grey with black surround and rings.

Yes matey have one sat here waiting to go, only cost £20 brand new, mine is the SE bumper though.

Hi mate. It's an S-line cab. But has the SE bumper. If onlybAudi new what a pain it causes to owners lol. I guess from my point of view with the SE bumper there is much more available and some real bargains to be had.

I used Plastidip. Light Coates and allow to dry thoroughly.
 
Looks spot on that mate, what's plastidip like with jet washing and how's it hold up to road crap and flys from general driving?
Result is really good though!
Dani if you've got the part sat there then surely it's worth the ball ache of taking the bumper off, it will transform the look of the car!
 
Deffo if you have the new grill then remove the bumper. If your doing this I would suggest you prep the chrome outer trim and paint it satin black. Will give you a more durable finnish
 
Mate it's having time, my 8 week old daughter takes up any spare time I have haha.

I've seen the threads Ian, just prefer the Matt look of the plasti dip and surely it'd be easier.

If you want a quick fix then plastidip in situ. It's fine and so far no probs with it. Easy to mask up and peel the access of

Having not done. Just out of interest does everyone else find it really stressful
 
Not fitted my brembo 18z calipers and hel braided hoses. Can't work out if they've sent me the wrong hoses.DSC 0854 supposed to be brembo front and s4 rears but there are no banjo bolts and an extra pair of short lines?

Anyone done these mods can advise?
 
Not all HEL lines come with Banjo's IIRC. I can't remember if you have to request them or if they only come if already fitted on the car as standard.

As on their site it states in the contents:
  • Stainless Steel Banjo Bolts (if required)
  • Copper Crush Washers (if required)

Anyone near Huddersfield with brake bleeder? I hate blessing brakes seriously just contemplating paying someone to fit my brembos

I definitely have the hoses in your picture but that looks nothing like the arrangement on the rear of my cab. I have a long flexi that seems to come down from behind the arch liner and it joins the caliper in a banjo fitting? Mine is an a4 but with s4 rear calipers (which are the same style as the s4 just bigger to take the 300mm vented disc). I had assumed the L shaped fitting was for the brembo front caliper.
Now I'm really confused!

I also would've thought that the one with the bend in it would also be the front.

Have you checked their website with the code you have on the packaging or was it a special order?

Ones with the bend 100% for the front because I have them for mine
 
Nothing remotely exciting, other than give it a wash and polish... I do love this colour though, especially when the sun catches it:

Test fitted the bentleys today, they aren't going on yet because they came with 225/35/19 on and I can't handle the stretch plus need to drop it yet, nothing to mad thou, any suggestions guys? Still don't know weather to go 235 or 245 on the tyres it's doing my head in! Had a nightmare with one of the locking wheel nuts too, dam that thing was tight on, ended up rounding the key, so had to order another from work, so going round with 3 bentleys on till tomorrow ha! Anyway here some pics, it will look better with a drop, but as they say Rome wasn't built in a day :grin:

Yeah I was thinking of doing that mate, but with the wife driving it most of the time with the kids in I don't want anything to harsh, I was thinking of just going with springs, do you have a suggestions on springs mate? God I'm 34 tomorrow should I still be doing all this at my age? The wife thinks I'm having a midlife crisis, but surely I'm too young for that? I just want a nice family car, what people look at and go "that's nice" it not that much to ask for is it ha?
