What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

jeebsy, you can get a half decent finish with the tins on small stuff, thing that probably stops it being a mint finish is i was outside when i did it, also i can spray ok as i'm a painter decorator/sprayer by trade (not motor trade though) so it's a little easier for me than others, top tip of the day, dont empty the can on the job it will always splatter and knack the finish up. leave a bit in the can and it'll be sound going on.

+1 on the rattle cans
Only done small jobs like mentiond
Done my brembo caliper/bracket and my rotor on my disc ..result was amazing they alwayd get a mention and i get asked howmuch...where from lol

Agree with the splaters...paint gets clogged up and looks crap
I done spray painting at college so i have the basic skills....not a pro by no means..but i would like to think im pretty good with a can lol

You cant see on the pics...but i hung my stuff up to the lip of my garage door using wall ties lol
Also folder and taped cardboard into a cube shape to stop the spray from hitting stuff.

Top tips i can say
Rub it down to give abit of a rough surface so paibt has something to cling on to
Not too rough tho lol
Some caliper paint you dont need to use primer...some you do, the red paint i used was halfords caliper paint (all halfords)

Make sure it is clean i used terps lol

Spray in layers,
1st .dusty cover aim for the hard to get places first..then the rest
2. Again just another dusty cover
3. Abit heavier
4. Again ...you should see a nice covering now
The paint can will indicate how long the waiting time is...take tempretutre into consideration
Also start your spray before you actuly hover over your item otherwise there will be a build up of paint instead of a nice even cover

Hammerite paint is meant to be good

Our local man in a big multicolored van has just been and left my final (hopefully) batch of alloys.
on first viewing they are a quality item and finished to a very high standard ,TUV aswell so not to bad on the quality front.
weight wise they are so light, almost make my current rims feel like they have extra lead added in the mix....
anyway armed with the info supplied from my rubber thread i'm off down to my local tyre chap to get things sorted.

yep, I'm just finishing my cuppa and cheese roll and then I'm out the door lol

Saying that another few hours isn't going to make that much of a difference to the looooooooooonnnnnnnngggggggg wheel saga.

Looks like it will have been worth it in the end though!

Just make sure they use the rubber/nylon cups on the tyre fitting machine etc or you may have to go through what I did. Just stand over them and watch them like a hawk lol

How much will it cost for four tyres to be fitted?
10 bob a tyre near me :(

Got to admit rob I like them. What's the make and spec. Also what does a bare alloy weigh?

yes carl I did go with 18"'s in the end , I tried another set of rims of 19" on Monday with 35 profile rubber and it was just too harsh for me mate, i think i felt every last grain of dirt on the road let alone bumps etc , i'm no spring chicken anymore and do like a small amount of comfort now, so still on 18" , I like the look of the larger 19" rim and i know most of you guys do and run them ,but for me and with the roads around here its 18" for now.
The good thing with these is that due to there thin spoke pattern etc and combined with my lowered suspension now i find i'm more than happy with them, its probably an old bloke thing...lol

Still look god pal......and glad you're happy with them.

I bet you can feel a pea under 20+ mattresses then. Lol

Rial Zamora's Dani but spec unknown.

probably......

I also have a sense of de ja vu with these, my old bus came with the 8j ronal DTM's from the fatory I did like them , stupidly sold them and now look....lol
I see a very close resemblance going on...

that's an old pic mate with the ronal DTM's on, i will be updating with new fitted jobbies pics shortly after the old bus has had a wash and blow dry.. it's.looking very mucky today.

Ooh I'm liking that their 18's, I'm on the look out for a nice lightweight alloy but I ain't got £1000+ spend haha.

just given the old bus a quick wash ,and dry, and then it poured down... sods law..lol
a few pics and they don't look to bad at all for 18's to be honest, I was going to lower the front a bit more with some B5 perches I have but may not bother now as it looks fine.
just waiting for the brembo big brake kit to arrive, but maynot be for a few weeks yet,,,bummer.
They are 8j ET35 18" so just wide enough without rubbing anything, specially on the front.

Well they look absolutely banging Rob, I'd say they warrant the sleepless nights you've had ha. Also I'm definitely getting a sline rear diffuser, the back end looks really well.

I may possibly stick a 3 or 5mm spacer on the back just to fill the rear arches a bit more, B7 avants do seem to need a bit more on the rears I think.

nice one Rob mate glad you got there in the end, the look very smart on and i think your right about the height too, just sits nice.

have you made sure the brembo's will fit under them mate, lol.

oh yes, they will be fine with these rims tony, well not masses of free space but enough to do the job safely.

yes , looks right, with my rims on ET35 plus a 5mm spacer that's ET30 so pretty well where yours were.

i had to ask, lol, sorry Rob if i caused a head fart again mate, and i knew someone would say something lmao.

managed to get a really good deal on a brembo kit in the states , miles cheaper than over here or Europe but i'll have to wait a while for it as its being shipped over in a container of other stuff.
these kits cost way to much over here and I would not go with it normally but I have a friend that works in Chicago, he has some kit coming back so it can just go in that, so works out as a great deal.
