What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Where did you get that from, Alex?
I like the perforated leather, looks much better than the standard S line knob.
I bought one of those cheap ones from a Chinese seller on ebay - needless to say, it didn't look as well finished as the pic in the ad., but I tried it anyway - about as useful as a chocolate teapot. I think it was on the car for about an hour........

I got it from a buddy of mine, but i believe it is from a newer a3/s3

Pulled the boot lock off as it was no longer holding shut. Low and behold, like everything on this car, someone has been at it before and clips are broken and the lock plastics held together with superglue. No idea why people bodge repairs that would cost less than 20 quid to replace with new.

At least you're doing it right - a bit of self-satisfaction does go a long way.

I've been working through a helluva lot of issues with my car, things that would be less than a fiver to fix (like the arm rest catch) and found missing items tucked away under the rear seat cushion, the engine Audi rings badge stuck under an engine mount ("No idea where it went, mate!"), brake wear wires cut and twisted together, a lot of cable ties holding the wheel-arch shields and engine under tray on etc etc. Still got a few things to do yet.........

To think that the past owner was a mechanic (albeit a Ford mechanic) and had the car for two years is a little worrying!

Fitted some new mudflaps, rain x'd the windows and put on new wiper blades.

Wind deflectors just arrived so will fit them later tonight.

Could do with a wash if there is a break in the rain.

Did the hex key and balance shaft so the whole unit was replaced to be on the safe side! Was deliberating whether to do it as it cost £750 (only 1 place locally would do it as the “OEM” fix is new sump, pump et all costing £2k!). They showed me the old one and it was wearing so I’m glad I did!

It’s a really good little car, I love the B7 A4’s. it has age related marks outside as expected (and the clip on the front bumper on the N/S corner is broken so it’s not completely flush with the headlight/wing annoyingly) but other than that it’s lasted well. I’m impressed with how the interior has held up

spent a while recoding my rs4 fbsw so finally the buttons illuminate, small thing I know but want to get as much value and function from it as possible...:yes:

The dash is one area I have never touched Alex, that's how it came from factory , over the years of ownership of the old bus I've found a lot of sutle extra's fitted from the factory that were extra,extra's.:yahoo:like the rs4 rear ARB that was factory fitted from new.

Productive day, but on smaller stuff that will go unnoticed.

Replaced boot lock with a new item since someone bodged a repair on the one and it occasionally wouldn't close. Warning triangle holder ordered as I noticed one of the clips was broken.

New glove box lid arrived to replace the one with the broken hinge. Damper replaced as well. Original latch fitted as it still works from the original key :) Glove box opens at a good rate, lights go on and off as they should and the wee clips inside the door for the pad and pen are all in one piece now. Delighted with these small fixes/improvements.

The devil is in the detail, ive done many of these small improvements/fixes that are just as satisfying as big jobs
 
I have another loose door handle cover, this time rear offside.
I did both fronts a few years back but seems the rears are in need of attention, allways something to do.:yes:
 
My intercooler hard pipes are welded and painted now, and my crash bar mk2 is in primer, added bracket for air temp sensor and mounts for the horns.

It's how they spiral, haha.

Mine started with noticing the glovebox light wasn't coming on. Bulb was blown so I thought 'great, a 10p bulb' and that turned into a new lid and damper, retail 200 quid, haha. Got a new, old-stock lid from Cardiff Audi for 50 though :)

You need to carefully, I do mean carefully pry & slide the cover off , put some tape on the underside then refit, works a treat .
Just a fiddly job, lot of vids on the interwebby aswell.

I broke the pins while trying to remove it, ended up super glueing the SOB.

After spending time not having much luck finding exterior kits for the S Line.. decided to go fully DIY. Found an S Line grill from a breakers that needs a lot of TLC as well as a TDi engine cover that still has the logo attached & a few other bits. Also followed suit after a few other members and installed new gear stick. Should keep me out of the way through the winter.

Finally pushed the button on some 18z’s... need to order some discs and pads now.

So finally got the bumper fitted sprayed (not happy with the spray job) and a new front grill sorted.

But I’ve given up with the xenon ‘upgrade’ I think I was completely had with the second hand units... a waste of £350! One side will give up the ghost after 1min (I’ve tried other ballasts and lamps at great cost) and the other after 5mins... so annoying! Ah well...
