Well I started off the weekend intending on getting this lot on the car and get the geometry done so I'm all ready for winter. That's a couple of new rack arms and track rod ends, four Goodyear eagle F1s and a pair of springs I took off my breaker to get rid of the saggy bum look its been rocking. The breaker is a 2wd S line Avant and since I couldn't see the colored markings on the S4 springs I assumed they had been replaced with aftermarket springs so it was worth a punt. Dragged myself out of bed and down to work Saturday morning only to find the compressor chose that day to refuse to start which ruled out most of the work I had planned, cant blow tyres up with no air and our geometry ramp wont come down without it either so that left just the springs. Pulled one out to find it was original and very different in the thickness and also winding of the coil too. Decided to try the ones I had as a very short term solution as one of mine came out in two pieces so they had to be better than that. It now sits level but the spring rates are probably all over the place but I Have the correct ones on the way.

Not the best picture but there should be a little air between the top of the tyre and arch, at least on a car running stock suspension.

So after that almost complete bust I decided to do a little job today to brighten up the cockpit. Having had the later cars with chrome on the switches I think it lifts the dash a little and ties in nicely with the strip on the bottom of the nav. Nice easy job, pull the nav out and the trim over the buttons and there is a little access hole above to pop the row of switches and cupholder retainers from. Then bosh in the new ones and you're done.

What I didn't allow for when I bought the cup holder was finding this attached to the back of the original as its illuminated. I popped this into the holder on the back of the new cup holder but found out its missing a few bits internally to transmit the light to the symbol on the front so ended up with a kitchen table full of parts as pictured below.

You can just make out the clear Perspex bit in the middle of the above pic missing from the one below. It just needed this swapping over then I could fit that front cover to my original cup holder which has another piece in it which is required.

The finished product which ties nicely to my steering wheel with silver audio button surrounds and tip paddles. Next on the list for the interior is to replace this carbon trim which is cracked, bugs the life out of me! I have a replacement but it sustained a bit of damage in the post albeit in a much less prominent place and I have been doing a little repair to it but I'm not quite happy with it yet even though its tucked right up behind the steering wheel. Frustrating to say the least but once its fitted and I'm not staring at it I'll soon forget about it.
