Evening all,

So I finally joined the club and bought my first Audi, a second hand 2009 A4 B8 a few weeks ago. Massively excited about my new purchase but already noticing a couple of issues.

As a newbie I was wondering if anyone has encountered similar issues. Have just started to notice issues with the indicators whereby I start to indicate right, everything works as it should for the first couple of seconds and then without touching the stalk the car starts to indicate left and the lights on the left hand side start flashing. Doesn't make any sense at all. Is this a common issue?

This evening, having not encountered any issues with the car starting previously, I had a problem starting the car. The battery light was flashing and their was some noise that seemed to be coming from behind the infotainment screen, eventually the car started. I ran the engine for a while letting the battery recharge, drove around for a while and parked up and then came back half an hour later with the same problem. The car has been driven regularly since purchase and can't seem to figure out why the battery is draining if this is an issue- nothing was left on (lights etc) but could this be something to do with the electronic handbrake?

I'm just wondering if the two issues are related. Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to ASN, Never come across that kind of issue with the steering wheel. Has the steering wheel been changed ?, it's possible the alignment may not be 100%.
As for the starting it's probably on it's original battery so that will be 7 years old so well past it's best.
The best thing to do is check for fault codes with VAG-COM and see what shows up.

Thanks for your response. You were right about the battery, it was original and not holding a charge so got that replaced.

Still need to look into that indicator problem, will keep investigating
