Whats the fiffrence between 8V1 and 8VA and how do i check mine?

Hi all,

I seem many parts on flea bay for Audi A3 8V models but I am a little unsure on the difference between the two. Audi A3 8V1 and an Audi A3 8VA

Mine is a A3 Sportback on a 2015 plate, but I don't know if it is a A3 8V1 or a A3 8VA as I don't know the difference. Can anyone put some light on this for me.

Yes they are different models of the A3:
8V1 = 3-door
8VA = Sportback
8V7 = Cabriolet
8VS = Saloon

Some parts will be interchangeable and some will not. If you have an A3 Sportback then you have an 8VA.

And to make sure everything is as it should be, check your warranty card inside your handbook and also your VIN has the information contained within the middle section, character 7,8 & 9 I think!

Sorry to bump an old thread, but does anyone know what 8VE or 8VF or 8VK are?
 
Curiously, my 2018 FL pre-WLTP S3 Sportback has chassis WAUZZZ8V7....... but 8V7 seems to indicate Cabriolet, so there may be more variations?

Also comes up with chassis type 8V-AU37 (3Q0) in VCDS.

just to throw it out there to add to the confusion as well my vin is wauzzz8v8. They must had ran out of numbers/letters cause they kept making them due to the delay of the next a3.

Audi A3 , 3door 2013 bumper


sorry to message on here but I please needed help . I am trying to replace my Audi A3 SE 2013 bumper . 3 door but am not sure which other year bumpers can fit on my vehicle as I cannot find one for 2013. Will a 2017 SE bumper fit . also will it have to come froma 3 door car or a bumper from a 5 door SE car will fit

2017 will be a facelift and your 2013 is a Pfl.
headlights were different in the facelift so unless you swap the headlights as well it won’t fit.

Sorry again , would a suspension leg( hub and shock absorber) from an Audi a3 2017 5 door 1.4 petrol fit in an Audi A3 2013 3 door 1.4 petrol?
