Hi everyone, I've recently just ordered the above car and as usual- I am suffering with a little buyers remorse- this will be my first Audi and I've ordered it rather than Mini Cooper S and Golf GTD. When I drove it I absolutely loved it, and that was around a month ago now.

Would love to hear some opinions on the car and it's performance from others who have driven or drive one!

My spec is as follows:
Dayton Grey, 3 Door, 10-Spoke Alloys, Tinted Rear Glass, B&O, Comfort Pack.

Thanks again!

Fabulous engine, so quiet you'll not know its on when idling, smooth also with plenty of grunt and the mpg can be diesel like in the right conditions. Personally I would have the manual gearbox though as it makes the car more fun to drive...

I haven't owned an Audi with that combination of engine and gearbox but I did have a 2014 Golf with the same set up. It was a brilliant engine and gearbox to be honest. Mpg was good, power was enough for what is needed etc. Infact in all honesty, out of around 40 cars its one of only two or three I regret getting rid of and would have back.

The manual was considered but I opted for the S-Tronic as I live in Bristol and the traffic can be an absolute nightmare- I was suitably impressed by the gearbox during the test drive!

How responsive is the car when you really want to have some fun and thrash it around?

B&O is absolutely great. I have a 1.8 TFSI now but I dont think the 1.4 would struggle keeping up. Really nice smooth engine with plenty of punch especially mid-range.

One of the biggest pull factors for me was the B&O- I've heard Harman Kardan in Beemers and from the brief time I've had with B&O- in a dealership car, with the windows down, inside the dealership- so as you can expect not full blast and blowing your socks off. Sounded pretty tasty to!

I have the 1.4TFSI (150bhp) with the S-Tronic and I LOVE IT. The engine/7-speed combination is really good. The engine is very smooth and yet responsive when you want it to be. Over 11,000 miles I've averaged 40.57mpg and my road tax is only £20 although since Audi "adjusted" CO2 figures to account for the bigger wheels it is a bit higher I think. I know you'll read all the reports on this forum about the S3 and how fantastic it is (and I'm sure it is) but IMO in the real world driving nowadays the 1.4 is all the car you'll ever need. Don't give it another thought - you've made a great choice. Now the only problem will be the wait for the car to arrive and all those lovely other options which you didn't select but which many posts will tell you you should have selected. Because my car is a keeper I went heavy on options and don't regret any of them (although I don't often use the self-park if I'm honest!).

I couldn't bring myself to add the tech pack, I really wanted the upgraded display with the tech pack- but I'm not too sure. Still think I would like it- my car is build week 9- so may still be possible to add. You have gone all out on the options- very nice though!

I've also opted for the alcantara/leather seats- absolutely love that stuff..

We recently bought our first Audi, which is also our first auto (A3 150 COD S-line). Only about 3 weeks in to ownership and so far so good as an everyday commuter/small family car. It's a lovely space to be in.

Our previous car (123d) was a good allrounder - very good performance combined with very good fuel consumption. Over the 4 years we had it, the car averaged 48mpg while still being driven fast fairly frequently - really was the best of both worlds, but diesel just didn't excite so I ruled it out when we changed.

So far, I've been driving the A3 in that mindset (performance while still looking for good mpg) and have quickly learnt that I'm stupid :whistle2: If I drive like a granny, it's boring as hell but still only returns around 40mpg. If I head out for a bit of fun, it's a very capable little car in dynamic/sport and brings a smile or two, but the mpg suffers a lot. Obviously.

It's my mindset that's screwed - not the car. I've still a lot to get used to in the car and don't really regret the decision because we were looking to 'buy sensible'.

Absolutely agree with @glospete . I know that the S3 boys would look down on it :blahblah1: but for me it goes quite as fast as I want to go :racer: (I'm an old fart you know!!). Certainly accelerates fast enough to be dangerous.
On the more sedate side, it's as smooth and quiet as can be.
You will just love it.

Like most modern turbo engines it runs out of puff at the top end of the rpm range, but useful torque is there quite low down so overtaking is easy. It is a fun car to drive and responsive, in comparing it with my 1.6 focus ecoboost it is a much better engine in a standard map..

I had the 1.4 COD for 12 months, I traded it in last week and collected my new TT. The COD was a great engine, I was averaging between 40 and 50 MPG on my 20 mile daily commute - mix of city and A roads. So for me very cheap to run. The performance was good, decent acceleration that gave confidence with overtakes. In every day driving it's a good all rounder.

My only criticism is that the engine is too quiet, it became a little dull to drive. The TT is on another level, but I'm definitley spending more time at the petrol station ;)
