Hello Everyone,

I have an Audi A3 1.8 TFSI Automatic transmission.
I would like to get my car to get more power and keep the costs low.
I have remapped my car already, changed the exaust (de-cat) and installed an induction kit (K&N).
I read that I would need to change spark plugs and fuel injectors. Any advice on which ones and where can I get them from? Any more suggestions?

Thank you in advance

Would I need an intercooler for that?
When you say bigger turbo do you mean a K04? Or do you know any other models? Would my engine stand the upgraded turbo (the increased turbo pressure)?

Thank you

Sorry firstly you could get a high pressure fuel pump and a updated map that would make you at stage 2+ and then you could get an upgraded turbo, ko4 is the easiest to get hold of rebuilt, there's one on here for £700 all in with all parts needed

There are other turbos you can buy for the car but it's not something I've looked into a lot, garret turbos are the big deal I think mate but your talking big money!

There's many people on here that can explain the different options for turbos, Hpfp would be your next cheaper option mate 100%

Wow, I see I'm talking to the right guy. I honestly don't understand much about cars. It's my first car and I want it to be my dream car.
First things first, which is the right type of high pressure fuel pump I should get? Secondly where would you recommend me to get a stage 2 remap? And thirdly £700 for a k04?!? Really? Where ? If it's that cheap I'm buying it the end of this month.

I really appreciate your advice. I am a newbie about cars. And what's HPFP?

orry to answer your question I don't think you will need an intercooler until you get a bigger turbo, I know I don't on mine which is the 2.0, not sure what spec your intercooler will run too

I'm not expert on cars either mate I'm just trying to pick things up along the way, there's lads on here who really know there sh*t when it comes to cars, hpfp is a high pressure fuel pump mate

Thank you for that. Would you know a good place to get a stage 2 remap?

That's unfortunate for you because usually it's only £50 to upgrade to stage 2 at most tuning places, I don't know any round there mate but you really can't go wrong with revo or APR, very popular companies with extensive track testing but there not on the cheap side, but honestly do not buy a **** map you will regret it

No I wont, I heard a lot about that, I will probably go for APR and thank you for the advice.

No worries mate, happy to help where I can, if you go for another map at APR or Revo I bet they can get another 20bhp without changing anything else, was your car put on a rolling road or did he just flash map it?

Just a generic map then mate, similar to bluefin I would say, I've heard that revo and aprs maps are much more aggressive, they will rolling road it before the map to show you what power your currently putting out and then map it and tweak it to suit your car to get the best possible power, and then rolling road it after to see what figures you have, I think you should just change map and li will see a big difference

I am calling them to find out availability and price. Thanks for that.
And pls let me know if you find a decent K04 for me to buy. I looked on ebay but there are loads of different ones plus i dont know if i get just the turbo which i saw for £170 or the complete one with manifold and all for £750

The problem always tends to be - cheap power = unreliable, because it'll simply turn things up without giving due care and attention to lubrication, cooling and correct mapping. You would defo want an intercooler if going for a little more power, and that, together with a remap to make the most of the lower temp, more oxygen rich, intake charge, would give you relatively cheap power. It's just a case of can the injectors cope with the extra output required, will the engine oil stand up to it, will you start to out perform your brakes, and so on.

So, in your case, I'd say a relatively cheap but useful boost would be an intercooler and remap, you may be able to up the boost a bit with the intercooler also.

As an aside, think more about using the power you do have - better brakes, better suspension, lighter wheels and better tyres :)
