I know its bit like saying how long is a piece of string but looking at prices of these cars and they seem to drop quite a bit in price once they hit near 60k?

I was after one with 40k or less and had up to 16k to spend. But looked a few with loads of options and full history for about 11-12k for sale and they had 50-60k on the clock. From doing my research I think these cars are fairly bullet proof as long as they are serviced regularly?

Only thing that worries me is I do 40 miles a day for work so I don't want a car breaking down every 5 mins but if I can save a few quid is it worth looking at these cheaper ones?

I bought mine 2 years ago with 46k on the clocked and now has 89k and drives as it did when i bought it.

82k on mine now, 10,000m of those at stage 2+, last 5000m of those with TTE420 pushing 406BHP. I was talking with a chap at TTS Roadsport recently with a TT 2.0TFSI thats been stage 2+ for 100,000miles and has now done 160k. If they are looked after they are strong motors. Audi service intervals are to far apart IMHO and I service much more frequently. High mileage shouldnt put you off if you can be certain it has strong history.

Mine has done 86k miles.

First mapped at 10k and the last 40k at over 440bhp,and now into the 500s.

If you treat it well,it will be reliable.

Hi mate what torque you getting with the tte420 running 406bhp?

60k. miles is nothing these days, if it were a diesel it would be just run in. Some peeps on here have major problems with low mileage cars and some have 100k milers with no major faults, so yes luck of the draw I guess. Full SH and a comprehensive test drive will help you decide if it's a Lemon or a Good 'un.
Good luck finding that Good 'un.

397lbft, we did see upto 440lbft on some of the earlier runs but we decided that keeping up there on standard internals wasn't a great idea.
Cool thanks just deciding whether to go spec 2+ or 3+

When I spoke to spec a few weeks back they recommended stage 3+. From what they said the 2+ will take it but it's pushing it hard.

Yeah for the price difference I ordered the 3+ just incase I end up with big turbo etc lol

Do these cars burn a lot of oil? Someone told me you need to top it up 1 litre every 1000 miles?

Mine burns very little

Think your right I am just panicking over nothing. Put a deposit on 1 today which is a 2008 with 50k and full history. Can't wait to get it on Wed.

Seen a couple articles online about oil consumption. As long as I don't abuse it and service it then it will be ok

An early Christmas present ? someone been a good boy :friendly wink: Enjoy your car !! and btw my car burns pretty much zero oil.
Yes a early gift to myself. I thought stuff it I've worked hard this year. I sold my rental flat as me and the wife needed a bigger place but with house prices being so stupid we couldn't afford to move so we are just making our flat a bit bigger instead so I had some money burning a hole in my pocket. Got rid of my MK5 R32 so I had money to go towards a new place and I have missed it over the last 18 months. So I fancied a up grade!!!!

This is the beast
