Exspensive day today. Also ordered some snow foam as I ran out the other day

Couple question for you experts out there.

I assume you can apply the iron out from autofinesse on car body work ?? Is there a max time I should leave this??

I bought the G3 claymit and also a clay bar kit, are the clay mits any good as I'm thinking about taking it back and buying some extra clay bar instead ?? How do you keep them clean? As I know clay bar you have to keep turning it over to a clean peice ??

Also touching up stone chips, will I be ok going over the area around it with qd instead of washing the full car as it was only washed on Sunday morning? I've cocktail sticks as I think the brush will be too big to touch up, how many quotes of paint should I do and how many quotes of lacquer ? And should I let the paint fully dry before I apply the lacquer??

Thanks for any hints and tips I shall post before and after photos when I've done applying the wax etc prbz next Tuesday/wed.

Thanks

vid about clay mitt and bar bascially use with some shampoo and keep surface lubricated

with iron remover main thing is don’t let it dry on panels so give it a few mins easy enough. Stone chips can be quite tough to get right you can use a qd as long as surface is clean you should be alright, depending on how deep the chip is you might need few layers, not to sure on drying times maybe 30 mins or so before new layer goes on

I got the UHD wax when it first came out
Tip buy other applicators the one supplied looks the part but it's too soft and you'll end up applying to much wax which in turn leads to a lot of dusting seriously apply very very thinly
Stonechips get yourself a cornel paint pen off ebay or amazon mines should arrive next week from the states 4 weeks delivery as l could not source one in the UK

Thanks for that, Ive watched the part about the mit and it does seem easier. Think I'll give it ago on the Bonnet and see how I like it. If not I'll revert back to the old school style clay and qd as lube

I was considering buying some of this Bouncers Drop Roll . Any one used it ? Open to recommendations for decent glass sealant / rain repelant.

Angelwax h2go. Small bottle £6. It’s excellent stuff and you don’t use much so is good value. I have only used it the once but so far it’s been working well for at least 2 months.

I used the one supplied with R222 wax mate it ie just a thin sponge applicator will do something from halfords will suffice as long as its the sponge type, the UHD supplied applicator as well as being too soft it lacks feel ie you can't feel the paint surface it's like a rubber marshmallow
I prefer a thinner applicator then l can judge better the amount wax l am applying to the paint, also don't go applying it to all of the car then buff off, buff off after 5 minutes approx this will stop the dusting

How do you apply angel wax? Micro fibre,, foam pad ?

A microfiber pad will do fine then buff using several microfiber towels, split the windscreen into 2 parts over lapping application in the middle for full coverage

Thanks jassy. I did have a feel of the applicator and it did feel soft. I will have ago of it and see what I think of it if not I'll swap to something else.

As for the whole car wax thing. I was planning on doing 2 panels. Buff the first one start the 3rd buff second start 4th etc. That should give plenty time for the wax to dry nicely

Would you recommend washing after iron out before claying or just wash iron out clay then wash polish the. Wax ??

1.wash then rinse
2.apply the iron fall out remover leave for 3 mins split car into 4, for application of the iron fall out
Clay then wash again
Agitate the fall out remover if necessary on the likes of the the alloys

Keep the fall out remover away from rubber trim around the windows as it will turn it grey

Thanks for the heads up on the rubber. I only plan on doing down the side of the car and alloys. Maybe a little on the rear and front but I'll see.

I'll stick photos up here sometime next week when I'm done.

Look forward to that mate UHD wax leaves a stunning finish you'll get around 6 weeks of great beading/protection from it

Hopfully get a little longer as I also use sonax bsd every wash to help with the shine and beading.

Decided I'm going to take the clay mit back today and swap it for some more clay as I think I'd be better suited to the bar as I think you'll not be to feel as much through the mit and I'll just use a small peice per panel then throw it away as it hasn't been done in the 4 year it's been on the roads by the looks of it lol

Not a fan of the bsd as its more of a Sealant than it is a quick detailer but each to there own mate, l have never had a reason to clay a car, but it sounds your car is in need of it

Haha, good shout (on the P.O move).
You have spent a bit recently on the liquid gold never curing wax, and turbo charged jet wash
