So ive owned the S3 for nearly 3 months now so i figured it was time i started a thread before i get too far ahead of myself.
its a 2007 which has just hit 60k miles previously owned by a friend and forum member. Having came from a track spec Renault Sport Clio 182

Its very different to say the least but im loving it! The quattro works so well and is a very capable car out of the box. Just last week i did a track day at a local circuit to me called croft, the laptimes were averaging about 1 second slower than my clio which i was amazed at considering the audi is still on stock suspension and brakes.

And now some quick details of how the audi currently stands to bring this post to date is...
APR stage 1 map
MTC air intake
Team heko Wind deflectors
Newsouth boost gauge
VMR v703 wheels
2011 rear lights
R8 oil and coolant caps

Currently looking like...

Tonight i have just fitted my Loba HPFP, all ready for stage 2+ software now! And then see how long my clutch lasts...

Im also going to fit the RS4 pressure relief valve just for peace of mind.

The fuel pump wasn't a bad job at all, after reading a guide on here i had a good idea and i managed to get it all swaped over in just under an hour.

Stage 2+ is great! Really has brought the car alive now, effortless overtaking and it just doesent stop pulling! I love it however it really has highlighted the weak point being the brakes.

After a run over the moors they soon over heated and become scary, lost all there feel and bite so ive just bought a vagbremtechnic kit if ebay using the TTRS callipers/362mm AP disks and ds2500 pads up front

And for the rear ive bought a 335mm kit, which still used the standard calliper just a bigger diamiter drilled disk which should be perfect for fast road/occasional track day, also using ds2500 pads

Also bought a whiteline anti lift kit from the same seller so got a good package deal,

Ill fit that once i get suspension and anti roll bars fitted

So your the reason I had my bid cancelled on the brakes:disrelieved::disrelieved:

Great buy though. I want the coilovers and exhaust they have for sale.
Oh im sorry haha! I had a max bid in but im going away on holiday now, currently sat on the plane and i had to secure them haha just to be sure

The exhaust looks great, custom fabbed by mrc to flow 450bhp, the lad selling was running a loba lo4xx turbo

He has a few goodies for sale, i nearly took the haldex race controller too but i managed to resist

Good news on the brakes.

I found the stock ones were pretty useless as well, and quickly bought my first brake kit(the VWR one that's now in the bin),and recently moved to an AP kit.

DaveB gave me a bit of advice on DS2500s and track use, which was....dont.
Mine did exactly what he'd predicted and crapped themselves all over the discs.

Replaced them with AP rotors and Mintex 1155 pads, and a much better result.....

Also,I don't think you'll miss not getting the Haldex controller....it does make a difference, but really not much in comparison to ARBs/coilovers/ALK.
It's a bit like the icing on the cake.

Great bit of advice there mate cheers! Ill give the ds2500's ago as they come with the kit, i ran them in my clio 182 and they were great, with the S3 being heavier i can see how they might suffer, if i kill them ill replace them for something abit more tough

Yeah the haldex race controller exited me when i first saw it but after thinking i dont need it....yet hahah

So ive got my brakes fitted and i love them! The pedal feel is alot smoother and more positive than the original setup and the car feels alot more stable under heavy braking! The difference is night and day well worth the money.

The only problem now is that my VMR wheels dont fit, so ive borrowed some 19" rota grids for now but they have 255 profile tyres and are rubbing on hard cornering and fast dips in the road.
ff005e77495d358e7a89ef66a2fe6894.jpg

So the VMR will be going up for sale sadly due to them needing an 8mm spacer which will put them too far out the arch and ill be looking into getting a set of new 18" wheels as the car felt alot better on them especially handling wise
Some TD pro race 1.2 or 1.3 will probably be what i go for

What would you want for the wheels?
What size trye they running?
£800 with tyres
600without

Tyres are 2x dunlop sportmax that were new march this year and have about 4mm left
And 2x kumho ecsta or something that came on the car and have about 5mm left
They use 225/40/18 which is the same as standard wheels i think.
They would benefit from a refurb as some have slight curb marks and one has abit of flakey paint from a previous bad refurb where the paint prepared properly

So the VMR wheels have sold, and my new ones are orderd.
Ive went for team dynamics pro race 1.3's 19x8.5 et45 in high power silver, should look nice hopefully! Just got a two week wait now while i wait for them to be made as no one stocks them unfortunately. But while the cars up on axel stands in the garage it gives me a chance to tackle fitting the whiteline anti lift kit

Got the whiteline anti lift kit fitted, took a fair bit of persuading the old ones off the bottom arm but got there in the end! Its a shame to hide them under the car since there all shiny.

Also just orderd the H&R front and rear anti roll bars! Cant wait till i get those fitted and the car back on the road!

Well over a month later demon tweeks still havent got my wheels to me! There was a problem in paint apparently so have been delayed, ive been told they should be with me tomorrow... Then again they have been saying that the past two weeks.

So while the cars up on axel stands immobile i orderd a neuspeed dogbone insert and just got that fitted tonight.
along with a Quattro badge for the front grill which i can't decide if i like it or not and a rear boot net to help keep things organised and from sliding about in preparation for the 'ring trip im doing on 18th October
